A sudden shout awakens most members of the ship late that night as screams begin. Leona and her friends hear what sounds like a battle beginning around the vessel. Around, people are beginning to grab weapons and look about in confusion as the slaughter begins.

Leona grabbed her short sword. Turning to the other girls she cried out "Grab any weapon you can find and stay close to me!"
She looked around to try and find the source of danger.
Obversation 50 (in case it's not obvious!)

She sees a few men heading towards the women, three from the look of it, shouting in a foreign tongue and cutting down whoever stands in their way as they head towards the women. She hears sounds of fighting coming from elsewhere as they continue their advance and it looks like battle is imminent. Outside the wind is slowly picking up. A few people who have weapons are organizing up the stairs, and she hears screaming from the wheel of the ship too.

Marlow 80 Leona. 55 (60 bow)
Kurts: 108 (-5) Marlow: 148
Marren: 131 Escaped slave: 106 Sailor: 80
The pair of armored men assault the wheel, and the three men aboard look surprised but defend themselves. The current captain dodges Kurts's first slash with a surprisingly agile half-roll to his right, his sword clanging against the mutineer's armored forearm with a painful screaming of steel. He dodges the inevitable counter and bounces backward. "What's this, then?" he asked, spitting contemptuously on the deck. The winds howl lightly as the fight goes on, and below deck the two hear sounds of brutal violence ongoing.
Marlow, meanwhile, has much more success, his gigantic club smashing both of his opponents about, his great size and strength making him nearly unstoppable on the open deck. Being late at night, once these men are slain the only remaining fighters will be below.
Leona: 119 Ephrym: 164 Lara: 134
Emil: 91 (-20) Mutineer: 91 (-40) Mutineer: 128
Leona dives in swiftly, seeing the lecherous men approaching the unskilled Reach twins. Her opponent is a quiet looking man who grins at her with yellowed teeth and stabs, but the red headed heroine runs right into him and jams her sword into his left shoulder. He shouts out in pain and another man goes to tackle Leona before a massive hit from a thick oak club smashes him down to the ground as the grim giant north man bashes him. The third dodges both and tackles Lara, wrestling her with his dagger to her throat but she smashes his hand with a bottle and knocks the blade away for the time being. Across the galley a few more men can be seen battling, and Leona hears more of the women who had been on the ship screaming as the violence intensifies.

Round 2:
Kurts: 99 (-10 now) Marlow: 94
Marren: 116 Slave: 51 Sailor: 61
Marlow is buffeted by the winds and has trouble finishing his opponents but he does clobber both to death with blunt force trauma of a like not often seen. Marren and Kurts continue their dance, the current captain able to dodge the long strokes of his opponent for now, as well as avoiding the bull rush he tries to employ. The winds and darkness make the fight confused and brutal and he lands another blow on the old veteran's body, this time bruising a rib.
Leona: 72 (-10) Ephrym: 141 Lara: 95
Emil: 93 Mutineer: 61 Mutineer: 77
Random event: 1 (Catastrophe)
Emil painfully wrenches Leona's arm backwards, and she feels ligaments pulling in her shoulder, and Lara manages to grab her assailant's knife and start jabbing at him with it, but below deck the giant northman beats his man to death and snaps the third man's neck with his powerful arms. A woman screams as another man, either mutinying or simply enabled by the carnage, goes to subjugate her, but in her struggles a lamp is knocked over and the burning oil spreads to the few remaining spare clothes.

Round 3:
Kurts: 167 Marlow: 88 (-5) Marren: 111 (-35)
As Marlow joins the fight, the captain turns and lands a blow on him straightaway, but loses his footing as the wind blows, and then Kurts smashes him with a crunching blow that breaks his hip. He screams in pain as the first few wisps of smoke come up from a stairway leading back down to the hold. A few men and women rush out, some armed but none looking for a fight, merely to escape from whatever nonsense is occurring below deck.
Survivors remaining: 21 (counts Marren)
Leona: 121 Ephrym: 99 Lara: 72
Emil: 81
Crowl pulls the foreigner off Leona and slams his giant fist into his head several times, and Leona rams her short blade into his gut and watches as the life leaks away from his eyes. As he dies, Leona sees Emma rushing to her. "Are you all right? What's happening?!" She asked. "I mean, why are they doing this!" Her sister hands her a bow pillaged from one of the dead men with a diminished quiver of arrows. All of them smell smoke.
"FIRE!" Lara screams out as the first little flickers of flame can be seen. "We need to get to shore!"

"Look at me! I'm the captain now!" Kurts roared, to those that made their way above deck. "Get some buckets and put out that fucking fire!" He may not know about ships, but a lifetime as a sergeant at arms meant he knew how to give orders.

Result: 98, indecisive
Some people go to follow his barking orders, but some are either scared or openly defiant. Two women go to find a bucket but sounds of violence downstairs are stopping them from moving down the stairs.
Waiting on Leona before going any farther.

Leona hesitated only a moment Many of the people on the ship might struggle to swim ashore, but there were enough of them to try putting out the fire.
"He's right," she called out to anyone who would listen. "We have to put out the blasted fire. We won't last long without a ship. If you want to live, help put out this blasted fire!"
She ran to find a bucket.

As people try to find something to fight the fire, a man staggers onto the deck and collapses, blood flowing onto the ground. People shriek and panic. It appears despite the fire the killing is going on below, and the former captain's body limply is draped over a stair leading up to the wheel. Leona sees a waste pail in a corner that's been knocked over during the fight but that's about it.

Kurts heads down below.
"You fucks can kill one another when the fires out!" he bellowed, before trying to fight the flames, greatsword at the ready in case someone unwisely decided to ignore him or attack him.

No one tries to fight him, and belowdeck the fire is spreading relatively slowly. About a half dozen corpses can immediately be seen, and some more wounded crawling about screaming in pain and trying to avoid the flames. Kurts recalls swiftly that his gallon jug of flammable liquid is still floating about and if that ignites the ship could sink.

He shields his mouth and nose from the smoke and runs towards the hooch barrel, hoisting it on his shoulder to carry it to safety above decks.

+1 Strength
Kurts manages to bring the barrel above deck after a minute. The flames aren't spreading rapidly but they are spreading. It will be extremely difficult to put them out now and the most likely chance for survival relies on getting within swimming distance of shore.
