Leona frowned and looked at the group from her oat group before asking quietly. "Do we go with them, or strike out alone?" She didn't trust the men, except Ephrym (and him she only trusted in part), but she felt that the girls should stick together. "There's strength in numbers, I think."
But as she glanced at Zayn and Kurts, she felt those men in particular were not particular interested in helping the larger group.

"I'm not going with them," Lara said, heading towards the creek. "They started this whole fucking mess. You saw Marren dead at their feet." Hanna and Emma and Ephrym are all on one mind on that, while one of the other men agrees. The other joins the three survivors from the sea and strikes north.

"There a problem, ladies?" Kurts inquired, seeing the women attempt to slink off. "Strength in numbers."

Marlow sticks with Kurts and crew, eyeing Crowl and enjoying the thought of having him nowhere nearby. "We don't smell that bad; no reason to strike off on your own unless you'd like to choose where the cannibals eat you."

Leona frowned. "I go where the other women go," she said firmly. "You men must do as you see fit, but I feel responsible for these girls. I cannot abandon them now."

"And we'd be piss poor men to abandon noble ladies in the wild to a pack of cannibals," Kurts replied, with a wide smile. "Besides, you mentioned something about a reward from your lord father. Know you're used to knights protecting your pretty head, but unless you see anyone else around with plate, we're the best you've got."

"You got us into this mess, and we don't trust you or that scummy mercenary," Hanna said. "Rather have five people we trust than ten we don't." The girls and the giant and another man are already moving up the creek. There is only about another minute before the cannibals will be close enough to begin a real chase.
Zayn and his remaining man start heading down the southern trail. "Let them get eaten," he said. "Slow them down for us to escape," he chuckled as they began their exit.

"We stick together," Kurts repeated, with an edge to his tone, following the creek as well. "I'm not getting ate on account of some uppity twats wanting to split up because they didn't take a shine to the cut of my jib." If anyone thought he was letting a Redwyne and a Lannister woman with only one competent bodyguard out of his sight, they were mad. "We can go our separate ways when we get to Gargossos. Until then, trust us or not, you're stuck with us."

Leona shook her head. "You haven't the men to force us to go with you, so you'd best accept that the girls would rather we part ways." She turned and hurried after the other girls, Ephrym and the other man. If Kurts was fool enough to follow, he could do as he pleased.

He was indeed fool enough, following the womenfolk, hopefully with Marlow, Zayne, and company in tow. Had it not been for the cannibals, he may have tested that theory that he lacked the men to force her. Two men in plate and three without against a gaggle of women and two unarmored men were not odds he minded.

Zayn turns and looks annoyed. "I need to get to my army, not babysit some whore," he said, and continues heading south, in the direction most clearly away from the cannibals. His sole remaining mercenary follows swiftly. The creek forming the ravine is about a foot and a half deep and runs swiftly enough, the rocky soil allowing for even footing for now even in plate. The cannibals are approaching as the other four canoes land, disembarking a half dozen men each, all wielding spears and some with hunting bows. They call to each other and begin to fan out in a hunting formation. They're currently about a quarter mile away.

As she reached the rest of the group, Leona said "We need to hurry. And we should try to find a safe hiding place. Or at least, a place to make a stand. If we're going to die, best we do it fighting."

Evasion result: Light Success
The sky slowly begins to lighten as the survivors run up the creek. The cannibals split up to chase the different groups and lose much time in doing so, and after twenty minutes or so the creek forks, one branch flowing down from hills to the east and the other running level going southeast slightly. Ephrym looks to Leona. "Which way?" He asked.

"Last I checked, the 'whore' is the only one that knows how to sail," Kurts replied to Zayn, but let him go. For the ransom a Redwyne could bring, he could buy an army. He trekked on.
"What would a highborn cunt know of fighting, or a good death for that matter?" he asked, at the woman's suggestion, dropping the congenial act now that they had made their opinion of him plain. "No noble ever won a war by dying. You lot win it by ordering some poor bastard to die in your stead."
He hung back at the rear as they reached another fork, watching their backs for any more natives, of course intending to follow the path they did.
