"I want to go home," she said firmly. "And the other girls will too."
Ephrym she was less sure about, but he seemed the kind of man who would manage well enough no matter what fate threw at him, and it would be easy enough to give him any help he required once she was home.

"Perfect," he said, "so let's get sailing." The sails start unfurling as the wind carries their ship gently north. It is not in fit condition to sail at full speed, but for a few hours it makes steady progress. Lara comes up to Leona as she steers. "According to some of the ladies from here, this city is the worst place in the world," she said. "We're going to have to be careful, Gorgossos apparently is like the capital for a lot of illegality. They even have a cult based around slavery."

"Gods." Leona frowned. "We knew we'd have to be careful, anyway, but we'll make sure we never go about alone. And if we see a ship from Westeros when we get there, we'd best arrange passage on it."

Marren nodded. "If you have coin," he said. "We may have to take a different approach to the problem." Leona can see a gigantic serpent much farther out to sea. It is dark blue and sinuously winds in and out of the water like a sensationalistic map might depict.

Leona watched the creature. "Do those things attack ships?" She asked, gesturing.

"Probably," Marren said. "But it's too shallow here for it to come, I think." He grinned. "You're doing good so far. Didn't ever expect any of you to be so useful. It's rather pleasant for once." He takes a swig of some liquid. "You drink?" He offers her the bottle.

She took it, squinting curiously at the bottle and sniffing it. "I told you I've been sailing my whole life. What is this?"

"Rum," he said, "I think. It tastes awful but it does its work. People exaggerate their usefulness all the time. It is good to see when people don't." As the ship sails north, progress cannot be measured rapidly with the damaged masts.
Ahead, in the distance Leona thinks she can see the northern point of the great peninsula. At this rate it is two days of sailing to get there.

She took a cautious sip of the rum, wincing a little. "It's strong, but it's not so bad. "Have been to this Gogo-Gogo-whatever it's called before?" She asked.

"Once," he said, "But I never left the ship. It looked...awful." He shook his head as the rum burns. "We'll need water in a few days. And I hope you can use a blade. Gorgossos is no place for a lady, in truth."

"I didn't think it would be. I've some skill with short blades. But I hope we can move on quickly after we get water."

"Well, we can hope," Marren said. "But there's no telling. The gang lords who rule the city are notoriously aggressive. Hopefully your brother or queen have some sort of presence in the city. Would make everything much easier."

"I really couldn't say," she replied. "Why would people from Westeros even want to come to such a place? It sounds horrid."

"People fleeing law and order go," he said, "so they may do whatever their strength will allow them to, no royalty or the like, only limited by the pile of bodies you're willing to accumulate to stop those from taking your possessions. Usually most last a month or so then leave city or mortal coil."

"Ugh." She shuddered. "I wish we didn't have to go there. It sounds worse than the Wall. At least the men who go there only have to face wildlings and the cold."
