The waves gently Lap at the shore as Rowan, Abigail and Leona begin to wake up. They're on a rock near an island, a stone jutting from the water about six feet. Wood and bodies are strewn about, and the first thing they notice is the giant northman Ephrym standing and looking about

Rowan cannot find the axes right yet, but they find another hand axe and a bunch of supplies from drifting pieces of wreckage. Sharks circle the ocean away from shore, devouring any corpse they find. More crates can be seen below them, about fifteen feet down.

Rowan whoops a bit and takes the spoils over to the others at a spot unlikely to be washed away. They keep the hand axe for now till a better option is found or their owns.. 'Hah be crates under water too. Could beh good picking or food in em.. ah can swim.. who else fancys a dive with meh? ..ah also saw a few big fish things chomping the dead uns. "Sharks'll tear you to pieces," the north an said. "But getting to shore sounds like a damn good idea."

Leona sat up with a grown. Her clothes were saturated with sea water and she was cold. Her whole body ached. She looked worriedly at the others. They were hardly the companions she would have chosen for a situation like this, but attempting to get to safety by herself was clearly not going to be an option. Yet her hand sought the reassurance of the short sword Lyla had given her and she checked to see whether she still had it.
"We need to find out where we are," Leona said. "I'm not diving, but we do need to get to the island. But somehow we have to avoid the sharks."

The big Northmen starts throwing bodies into the water away from them to open a clear path. "Hurry," he grumbled in his gravelly voice. It's only fifty feet to shore and they can cross as the Sharks feast. Leona counts a half dozen of them, Rowan, Ephrym, Abigail, twin girls she swears she's met before in another life, and a man she recognized as a pirate crewman. She has her sword, Rowan has a hatchet, Ephrym has a giant oar as a club, and the pirate has a real blade. No one else is armed as they head to shore. "Need to go inland," he growled. "Find shelter. Storm coming back," he pointed to the horizon.

Steeling herself, Leona decided to get the crosing over with as quickly as possible. She turned to the others.
"We need to hurry, but try not to splash about. That will attract the sharks, I think." She kept her voice low. Then she stepped back into the sea and moved forward towards the island, trying not to splash. She kept an eye on the sharks in case she needed to retreat.

Se await across easily enough and steps onto the beach. The sand is soft and gold, the tree line fifty meters ahead lush and green and nearly inpenetrable. Monkeys scream and pineapples hang lazily from low branches. One of the twins goes and gets a fruit and the giant cuts the skin off. The pirate looks about. "We got blown really damn far off course," he said.

She turned to him, anxiety written over her face. "Do you know where we are?"

"Somewhere near th Basilisk Isles, I think," he said. "I just hired onto the crew. I knows we was near Sothoryos before the storm."

Leona frowned. She was trying to remember where the Basilisk Isles were, but she was fairly sure they were said to be extremely dangerous.
"Gods preserve us," she murmured. "Have you been to this area before?"

"No," he said, "but..." A giant roar trumpets through the air, and everyone looks about for a place to hide.
A twin shouted "what the hell was that!?"

Rowan crosses with the others.
Rowan grabs the twin around the neck with a hand across their mouth 'shh..' then lets them go.
Rowan looks pensive 'that edible or dangerous?'
Rowan has no idea what the hell of a place they are in but it sure isnt their familer forests.
Rowan looks about for a good place to shelter and anything worth collecting for the good of the.. ahem.. yes the good of the group for as long as it lasts since its obvious to Rowan that they stand a better chance than alone.

2 observation for Leona and Rowan.
The group finds an abandoned shelter from what must have been a fair bit of time ago to hole up in as the rains start. The wind blows hard but the wall of trees bends low, so long they near touch the ground, but they don't break. The giant looks to Leona. "So who are you?" He grunts. "Captain's girlfriend?"
