A massive glacier, miles and miles long and wide, so deep it has swallowed entire mountains, the Sea has devoured armies of Westeros since before recorded history, and hundreds of thousands of dead could be entombed somewhere within the massive ice field. Now it is jagged and nearly impassible, filled with the corpses of the Westerosi who have tried to destroy the Others before. In the center of the massive field is the mountain holdfast of the Others, their last fortification before their great citadel even farther north.

Uhtred marched with his men, in the western part of the host. They carried torches to ward off the chill, and for later use. He was in his normal form, both axes slung over his back. He glanced back at the dragon that hopefully accompanied them "second time this'll be to see that thing in action" he says to no one in particular "hope it's selective in where it puts its flame."

Benjen marched at the head of the host with a small contingent of badass people, occasionally looking up at Drogon with a critical gaze. It would be all too easy for Vhagus to just dive down and burn every man that stood below.

The dragon struggles to fly in the cold and heavy winds, but he manages. Vhagus and the army move north slowly, while Kalvin and Robyn and Killion show the way, until they reach the sea. It's white with a moving black swarm on it. The dead are rising. And they are pissed.

Ragnar marched with his own crew, doing his best to quell any grumbles and motivate his men.

"Well this looks grim," Benjen said from behind a big furry hood when they came to the edge of the Sea of Names. He stared across the vast expanse, taking in the sheer scale of the undead army. "It's so cold I fear our swords will shatter the moment we strike at our enemies."

"What else can we do, brother?" Robyn asked, "We've come here... live or die, we fight now."

Benjen listened to his sister's words and nodded. "You are right. Even if we have to fight them with our hands and feet and teeth - this ends here one way or another."

Kalvin nodded. "We know how it ends, Ben," he said, hugging his wife before the violence began. "We just don't know how much it will cost."
Drogon circles in the air, screaming its challenge to the assembled host below.

"Up there might be your answer," Benjen responded, wishing for a moment he had someone to hold close for one last time. What did it matter though. Everyone dies. "I'll give the order for the host to form up and prepare the battle formation. There isn't much left to say now."

Robyn held her husband close and whispered that she loved him in his ear, kissing him oddly chastely before moving into position.

Uhtred isn't holding Benjen. He's not getting sentimental either. This fight goes bad he's getting out.

Crowl tries to oddly cuddle Uhtred by giving him a bear hug. Or that one eye'd body guard that was brought up in the Last Thread, that Crowl grew oddly fond of during the Dornish campaign.

Uhtred pushes him away. He knows crowl only wants him for his body. To eat.

Harwyn wants Uhtred for who he is, though, and marches close to his most stalwart ally. If they survive this, things might get a little gay, but that's okay. It's always a little gay with them.
"I get the feeling I'm going to prefer demons over undead when this is done."
