"Yes. I got my first link only a few days ago," she confided. Then she smiled. "I'm going to focus on ravenry next. I think i'd be good at economics but engineering quite baffles me, I'm afraid."

"Well.. you kind of need them all to be a maester, don't you?" he asked, eyeing her over his ale. "Which one did you get done already?"

"History," Morgan answered. "It's always been an interest of mine, so it made sense to do it first. I have a lot more to learn though. Have you forged any of your own links yet?"

"Not yet, no. I'm sure I will soon," he replied, shifting in his seat. "What's next for you?"

"After ravenry?" Morgan frowned. "Probably illuminations, for manuscripts, you know. Or else economics. But I really love the old books with their pretty designs. Id love to be able to do that myself." Her face lit up with enthusiasm.

"Old books?" Came a shrill voice, and perhaps familiar voice from the doorway, "Pretty designs? Why don't you go outside and pick flowers too, make a daisy chain?"

Morgan turned and glared at the person intruding on the conversation.
"And that," she said coldly "is why so few people are allowed to learn the art of illumination. My tutor says I have a talent for it. A skilled artist can really make the pictures they draw come to life."

Augustus snorted into his drink at the snarky comment. Nodding whole-heartedly at Morgan's comment, he looked over his shoulder to see who the shrill voice had belonged to.

"I have never seen such? I do not see how that can possibly be a practical use of your time. Words have power, not little sketches."
The woman sat, sitting opposite Morgan and ordered a round of drinks. "But if they really do move... then I want one. I want one now!"

Morgan rolled her eyes. This one clearly didn't understand.
"That's not what I meant. Have you never seen a beautiful picture of a hero in a book and felt your spirit stirred with admiration? Pictures have as much power as words, truly."

"you are wrong" The girl said with complete certainty, "And no, but why say they move, if they do not?"

Augustus happily reached out his hand to accept the ale from a servant's tray, raising it thankfully in the newcomer's direction. He set it down and took another one in case Morgan wanted one, strategically placing it near his own drinks. He downed his first ale and began working on the new one, eyes shifting from Morgan to the other lady, trying to determine what the point of this conversation was.

"I didn't say that," Morgan said, beginning to get annoyed. She needed a drink, fast. She grabbed the one Augustus had taken from her.
"Can we not just move on from this folly? I'm sure it's boring our friends here." She gestured at Augustus and at Sara and the others in their group.

"You started talking about it" The girl pointed out, leaning back smugly.

"Yes, in a conversation with this gentleman here," Morgan replied, indicating Augustus. "It was your choice to butt in."
