Benjen nodded. "Let us hope for the best then." He looked about the slowly gathering wildlings and waited for Julia to return. "How many of these can fight?"

From the looks of it, as Benjen sees them as well as anyone, maybe fifty. Thirty for sure, but who exactly they'll fight push comes to shove can also fairly be questioned. Orys shrugged. "Don't look so good," he deadpanned. "I think we should roll the old dice on Eastwatch, myself, might be we could work something out."

Benjen spat into the snow. Broom had seemed the decent sort, though that could've just been deception. "Might be you're right. In that case those on the ship can send a message to Broom that we're coming. We keep marching in sight of the sea, that way we don't get lost."

Orys and Julia made faces at that thought. "Eastwatch, it will have to do," he said. Julia frowned.
"We're ready to leave now, then. Maybe we can make the first river by nightfall."
