"It's not the man," Brandon said. "King Brynden has no heir yet. That makes his sister the heir." He shook his head. "I don't like it, with two women ruling the regions and neither a warrior."

"I am sure he and my sister are working on fixing that problem" Robyn assured him, "the two women no doubt have commanders and what not to be warriors for them, countries need both and i find people seldom have the makings for both roles. I am sure the west will be fine, and besides, it still has the North as an ally, something we do not share with King Aaron, if he tries anything I do not think the Goldlands will be without friends."

Brandon shook his head. "It's not the Stormlands I'm worried about. Tomas Serrett is alienating people who should be allies with his...manner, and a lot of lords think that having ladies ruling is weakening them somehow. If they can choose between them or someone like the king of the Crownlands, it doesn't take a genius to see who they'd pick," he shrugged. "But that's all theoretical."

"Of course, I am sure brynden and Delila will have many sons" she said with a nod. Though it was an interesting question, or idea. People really were rather foolish sometimes.
"What do you think of the ladies running the lands?"

"I'll talk about the Lady Arania," he said. "Or, rather...if it is all right, I'd rather not. Suffice to say I'm loyal," he said. "Until death. It is just odd. People say the two are still had boring loyalties to, well, the North," he admitted.

"That is ridiculous," robyn said with a soft laugh, "they'd both have stayed married to their husbands if so," she shook her head, "st least the west seems to be doing well, even with women at the helm."

"Logic and some of my compatriots mix like wildfire and thatch roofs," he said. "But the fact it is stupid does not make it less dangerous," he said. "ive known the Lady Joanna since we were children. She is smarter than about any man I know."

"I know she is" Robyn said, nodding, "I am not doubting her ability, I was jokingly implying surprise... being a woman myself, who takes an unconventional role, it is not likely I am going to think they are incapable. I think all the kingdoms have those stuck in the past, it is not endemic only to the Goldlands, but I hope none of what you fear has the chance to come to pass."

Brandon nods. "Me too." He looks about. "Are you thirsty? I'm thirsty."

" I am thirsty, the weathers warm and we did work up quite the sweat," She grinned and jumped over the fence of the arena. "Besides, I will need a good drink to deal with my family."

Brandon laughed. "I hope not too many for you. The stories they'd tell," he looked. "What do you prefer? I'm a cider man myself, but apples grow well in Ashenark."

"Whisky" she grinned, "Or wine, I am sure we can find a place with both," she thought about offering him her arm this time, but thought better of it. there were jokes and then there were insults.
"Shall we?"
