"Who needs this...monstrosity?" He shook his head. "You think piling stones makes mankind great? No, this shows the perils of civilization. For this monument to ego my magic showed me five thousand workers died. Crushed or beaten or starved or exhausted. Ten thousand died simply warring for the stones to make it." He washes his face again and all the pool turns into wine and then some sort of fragrant juice and then back to water. "Cooperation makes mankind great. I wish to make all civilizations one civilization. No borders, one language, no money. We will need no gods, for we will BE gods," he said.

The whole... bath of many colours thing was starting to unnerve the young princess... because... why do it?" she held up a hand," I am not saying building this was right, I am saying it is what defined some people, that they got up every day or night and did it, they never tried to break the cycle of doing it."
She listened to his speech and nodded, "Yes, you explained it all to me before, and in this wonderful equal world, where everyone speaks the same and has no need for money and so on, I hazard a guess that there will be one god sitting high above the other gods, keeping all the other smaller gods in check, so really, they might as well not be gods, and this person above them, might as well just be King of the world... or emperor, which rather defeats the point of cooperation. besides, forced cooperation is just lying to yourself."
She paused again, "I can see a lot of appeal in the world you want. A world without war, without the same level of inequality and corruption, I think it is too much for one person, and also it sounds really boring."

Vhagus shrugs. "You're probably right. In fact," he nods, "You have convinced me to stick to my more mundane plan of enslaving everyone and having a thousand beautiful women attending me." He taps his fingers together. "People are boring anyway. Why make them more than what their little minds can handle?" He smirks.

"Only a thousand? I thought you dreamt big?" she asked, raising an eyebrow "In all seriousness, I am glad I could help you get your villainy back on track." she replied with a grin, "If you made people better, perhaps that would make them less boring? Surely not everyone is boring? I know some interesting people... none come to mind right now, but I am confident they exist"

"I'm not interesting?" Vhagus asked. "How sad. I feel...diminished." He arches an eyebrow. "No interesting person? You must be tough to impress. No wonder you're single," he laughed.

"I don't really know you. You might be, you might not be" Robyn replied, "Though I must say, this whole turning water into wine thing, you would make an excellent event host. The party would never have to end."
"Why should I lower my standards or settle." She laughed back, "In truth, there are some wonderful men back in westeros who are all intetested in marrying me, people any girl would love to be wed to. They all have their castles and their lands and honour and title. I don't feel like I need anyone else, I don't have enough space in my life for me, let alone another person, and then other people. I do not think settling down in in my near future, which I am happy with.

Vhagus nods. "Good for you. Live as free as you can while you can. No man truly deserves a woman," he said. He rises from the pool and puts a silk robe on. "And death will have us all."

"No time to waste then, but I do feel like you're either placating or patronising me," she replied, lying back down to renew her relaxing,

Vhagus takes a seat. "Why would I bother with either? Your dreams will tell you. Death is coming to Westeros. I would prefer one like you makes it through alive." He looks at her while she lies. "There is already a shortage of interesting people."

"My dreams will tell me if you're patronising me? Finally, a genuine use for them" she replied, smiling up at the ceiling. "If death is coming, I doubt it will take your preferences into account, but thank you, it's good to know I can increase the total number of people wanting me to live to at least two. If I am going to die I'm going to die, there is not really much sense in worrying about it."
"Nick told me people like you can make people dream things though, that must be a useful skill. Almost makes prophetic dreams pointless."

"I can," he admitted. "But not that well. With the power your gods have given you, my sad forgeries would be like costume jewelry. I could demonstrate sometime, I suppose." He thinks. "Sometimes death can be outwitted and delayed and endured. That is what we all do every day." He shakes his head. "You saw them in your dreams, I think. The ones Death itself is sending for you."

"See this is where you lose me" Robyn said, "You say in your world people will be gods, and we do not need them, but then are now saying they've given me power and by that logic must be taking an interest, so they are there, and are interested, but we don't need them?" She sat up on her elbows to look at him, "I can't marry the two together,"

Vhagus nodded. "The gods are real. Your brother killed one, or near enough. I postulate that they are a source of mankind's suffering, not an alleviated of it. If they feel no pain and know no troubles, how can they ever hope to truly understand what it means to be human?" He moved a bit closer. "They don't feel what we do when we see an attractive member of the opposite sex, or envy of a better piece of land or gold or clothing or another man's loved or anything of that. All they feel is power, and all that they can understand is power." He put his elbows on his knees and his chin on his knuckles. "I think those gods instructing us on behavior is like a septon giving advice on sex."

"Just because they do not understand something, does not mean they cause it pain. I do not know what it is like to starve, that does not mean I do not care about the starving of others. If all they feel is power, then they are just as likely to cause happiness as well as suffering. It could be the opposite way of you saying that."she looked at him, "I think you're focusing on the southern gods, my gods don't tell me how to act, what's good or bad, tell me how I should feel, and from what I can imagine, septons can probably give a fairly good Instruction."
"If this is your idea of gods, and you want to make the world into pseudo gods then does that mean you want to eliminate all pain and suffering? if so, your dream's quickly becoming a fantasy. Or were you just being poetic?"

"Poetic license," he confirmed. "I am saying mankind should set its own course based on what our needs are, not what some alien life form would have us believe is right for us." He laughed. "Pain and suffering are not all bad. They can make us grow. Did your dear cousin Kalvin ever strike you while training? I am sure it hurt, but it was necessary pain. Did your father swat you if you tried touching something dangerous? More pain. I seek to make man believe in itself," he concluded. "It will require much pain. And suffering."
