Ragnar had taken his first bite of monkey and found it tasted better than he'd imagined. After swallowing his second bite, he grinned at the prince.
"Got it, don't get eaten. Well, that suggests the women are off limits. I'd not want to go near a wench with a taste for human flesh. Striped men, hmm. How curious." He tried to picture the scene and could not quite manage it. "There's no sense even taking such beasts as thralls. God help us, this place is more evil than I'd thought."

Clarence shrugs. "People have tried worse on me."
Cedric chuckles mirthlessly. "We'll leave in the morning. Only fools paddle the rivers in the dark." He looks to the serving girls. "Also, if they aren't willing don't try taking them. We pay them in silver to hire them from the coastal tribes. They take a hard view to some of our more...forward activities." He rises. "They have some oddities for sale on the inland side of camp if you have the trade goods."

Ragnar glanced at his prince. "We should certainly investigate these oddities. Perhaps something will be of interest to us."

"Don't get ate and don't rape the locals." he repeated, with a sardonic smile. "Anything else?"
Killion patted the rump of the strange local woman on his lap, unsure how he would even begin to determine consent with her dreamlike exotic tongue.
"What sort of oddities?" he asked, curious. "Never one to pass up a souvenir."

"I'm not a shopkeep," Cedric says with a laugh. "I'll see you all in the morning."
The woman purrs in his lap and looks at both his swords curiously.

"Sleep well, Dayne." the prince replied, smiling to himself at the man's earlier mention of silver. Perhaps Vhagus had not misled them agter all.
Killion draws one of his swords, allowing the curious woman to examine it as his other arm curled around her lower back. His blue-grey eyes fell to Zayn and Eliza.
"So what are your stories?"

"Long and exciting," Eliza says. "Although why an Ironborn fleet is this far east seem far more interesting to me." She looks about. "It is a long way from Pyke, here."

"When does the market open for trade?" Ragnar asked. "Must it wait until the morrow?"

"It never closes. Those shopkeepers will sell you their daughters for the right price," she says, offhandedly.

"Aye and we have spent far too long in familiar waters." he replied, the firelight reflecting in the blade as he showed it off to the native girl. "Surely you must understand the call to adventure, the draw of the unknown, else most of you lot wouldn't be here in the first place."

"That is true," Eliza said. "We were all adventurous fools once. Now we are vengeful fools. The difference is rather shocking in theory, maybe less so in practice."

Not surprisingly, Ragnar's ears pricked up at that but he smiled and said "That's good to know. I fancy a walk to this market. I'll bid you all goodnight, unless any choose to join me."
He got to his feet and bowed to Eliza.

"Enjoy yourself Drumm and keep in mind that my favor can be bought." he laughed, before turning his attention back to the ex-sellswords before him and woman on his lap.
"Better a life of foolish excitement than sensible ennui." he replied with a wry smile, content with his lot in life in the moment. "What of you Zayne? Is training a basilisk anything like training a hound?"

"If the hounds have poison breath and carry greyscale," the man says. "But they are loyal once you train them right. Much," he jokes at eliza's obvious annoyance, "like a woman."

Killion remembered the words of Sunglass, that Eliza was not one it was wise to anger, and bit his tongue to stifle a laugh.
"Neither sounds like it has much margin for error." he jested in return, before motioning to Blackwall. "You can ask Clarence about the latter."
