The lord nods. "Get some sleep gentlemen. We move out at dawn."

Uhtred is escorted to Benjen. "Prince Benjen. I bring news of Amelia Royce, and her safe return to Gulltown."

Benjen looked up, a surprised expression on his face. "Uhtred Farwynd... I did not think I'd see you again." His eyes narrowed. "How am I to believe you? The last time we spoke you had a hundred crossbows pointed at me."

"And you had 10 swords at my throat" Uhtred shrugged "It worked out. I also bear a letter from Amelia, hopefully vouching for me."

Benjen nods and takes the letter, reading it twice in silence. "Right. This is all well and good but I cannot trust it until I have spoken with Amelia herself. If she has access to a fire then I expect a talk soon." He studied Uhtred a moment.
"I am sorry you were betrayed, but I find it hardly surprising. King Euric and Prince Killion hardly seem like the most stable of allies."

"Fuck the Greyjoys. I'm not involved with them anymore, and I hope to never see them again. I heard abouts there's a war on. Let me prove myself in a fight, even if it's on land." Uhtred stares at the man "Give me plate and axe, and I'll fight."

Benjen looks the man up and down and finally nods. "Once I have spoken to Amelia you will receive armour and a weapon. I know you can fight and I'd be glad to have you. Any available man against Bryce Dayne is a welcome man."

Uhtred bows low "Thanks you Prince. I shall have to find somewhere to sleep for now. I hope to talk again in the coming days. If your men do not kill me." He leaves to find somewhere he can sleep. And to get ready for that night. Redfort would come for him, he was sure. He had to be ready.

Uhtred was given a tent, and two guards to watch over him until Benjen had heard from Ami (which was a few days later).

Uhtred sat in the tent and sharpened his axe. He'd rest during the day. If they came for him it'd be during the night, the guards would probably be in on it. Once they learned the Prince hadn't executed him... he was the only ironborn for miles. Nothing to do about it though, his fate was outside his hands.

No one bothers coming. Larrance is professional, and if Benjen didn't kill him, he didn't see a need to. Unless it could happen in the middle of a hard fought melee...

Kalvin comes to talk to his most consistent warrior. "Dudley," he said, "what are you doing after the war?" After being dismissed Dud goes to speak with Kalvin. "After the war?" Dud asks with a laugh. "I guess I haven't thought that far ahead, My Lord. A sword like me almost always finds a war somewhere."

"Few enough swords like you," he notes. "Going to be bloody. Lot of widows going to be created, needing a strong man to help them through tough times," he said. "Tough times ruling castles alone."

Dud grins at the response. He had a pretty good idea where Lord Stark was going with this one. He wipes the grin off his face before responding though. "Unfortunate consequence of these campaigns. Sometimes I feel it's worse for the families back home. A dead man is a dead man, his end result is final. It's the family that deals with the death." His grin then returns. "But that's enough grim talk, I don't plan on being one of those dead men anytime soon. What is it you had in mind?"

Kalvin shrugs. "Depends. I only have my region," he said. "But if need be, I'm sure I could find a vacancy." He looks south. "Dayne is going to go down swinging, and I've heard enough stories about this fucking wyrm he has summoned." He smiles. "If this green dragon fails to destroy it, I want the biggest gang of bad fuckers I can find with me to bring it down."
