The bedchambers of the recently deposed Archon of Tyrosh, now those of Prince Killion Greyjoy and his wife. The rooms are spacious and decorated with the obstentatious and flamboyant display of wealth for which the Tyroshi are famous. A large decanter of pear brandy sits on a stand near the massive four poster bed. In the corner stands an elaborate suit of black and gold gilded armor. The Tyroshi are renown for its armorsmiths who can make fantastic helmets shaped like birds and animals, chased with precious metals . Killion had taken the old Archon's smith as a thrall, having a set of plate made that resembled a kraken, tentacles so realistic you expected the steel to writhe.

Bored with waiting for his captains to return from their reavings and ships to prepare for the coming expedition, Killion visited his wife in their quarters.

Tessa is painting something on a canvas overlooking the bay. "Yes, husband?" she says, narrowing her eyes as she focuses.

"She paints as well." he remarked in an amused tone, taking a seat and putting his feet up on the Archon's desk, carved from some exotic wood he could not begin to guess the value of. "Landscape or portrait?"
He filled two glasses to the brim with pear brandy, presumably one being for her, though it would not be the first time he had double fisted.

"Landscape for now," she said. "When we go back to the dark and cold islands you call home, I'll have this to remember Tyrosh, the golden apple of the Ironborn." She waves the drink off. "Steady hands are essential for art."

"If we go back." he corrected, with a shrug, downing the first drink before sipping at the second. "My ship is the closest thing I have to home and the sea my rich holdings. As far as I am concerned, we need only return to Nagga's Bones for the crowning."
"When it comes time to choose a seat, I would be glad for your counsel on the matter." he added, with a thin smile. "It is clear you are more than just a pretty face and I would be a fool not to listen. After all, we can looks east now for our reavings, to lands you know far more about than any under my command."

"East, hm?" she says, painting still. "I hope not too far east. I do hold some residual affections for my brother, dumbass that he may be."

"The corsairs of the Basilisk Isles have been pirating the trade ships that pass south of Old Valyria for centuries." he said, standing to watch the brush strokes over her shoulder. curiously. "I would worry more about what your cousin does to your brother, than what I can do. I am content as long as ships pay homage when they sail my seas."
"So what other talents do you possess? How is your Old Valyrian?"

"Leave a little mystery in your life, Killion. Every time you return I'll demonstrate a different talent." Her painting, to Killion's untrained eye, is shockingly good. "You'll need to go to Mantarys or New Ghis if you seek to claim the basilisk Isles, I think." She starts blabbing in Old Valyrian, singing something.

"Perhaps that curiosity will give me something to look forward to on dry land for once." he mused, with a genuine laugh as she began singing in Old Valyrian.
"Now why would we need to go to Mantarys or New Ghis for that?" he inquired, with a raised eyebrow, not feeling the need to mention they would not likely receive a warm welcome in Mantarys. "Have we not the strength to deal with the corsairs on our own?"

"Of course, my legendary man," she says, tapping his manhood absently with her paint brush. "but the diseases there will make you bleed your intestines out your asshole. Only a few cities make a medicine to treat it."

"Well we can't have that." he grimaced, somehow aroused by her touch and disgusted at her description the same time. "See, your knowledge of the east is already paying off."
"Is there anything you would like be to bring back for you from my travels?" he lightly kissed the back of her neck.

"I want a wyvern if you go to Sothoryos," she said. "Vhagus has them for pets. I think I can tame one."

"'Is that all?" he asked with a wry smirk. "Most rock wives want jewels and baubles, simple pleasures." He gave her earlobe a nibble. "I will see what I can do."

"Good," she said. "I grew up on the planet's wealthiest city; what rock could you bring me?"
