Euric grins. "Then we sail!"

Killion sent words to his captains, divvying up the galleys and corsairs into three reaving parties; led by Quentyn Cleftjaw, Ragnar Drumm, and himself.
"When Lord Malik or Uhtred Farwynd return, let them know where I am and thatI wish words with them immediately." he informed his father, before visiting his wife for a roll in the hay before his departure. A heir wouldn't make himself, after all. Leaving father in charge of managing the bulk of the fleet and Tristessa overseeing the management of Tyrosh, Killion set sail.

Killion, fresh from his reaving, summoned Malik and Giocanda to the great hall.
"Malik!" he exclaimed, standing from the Archon's throne. "It has been far too long. I bet you have quite the tale to spin for me."

The grim general just shrugs. "Nothing too interesting. Losing all our fucking land holdings and then fleeing a fucking nightmare."

"There will be better land and richer holdings to come and you are the man to take them." he assured the general, raising an inquisitive eyebrow at the word nightmare. "Now, what the fuck happened at Bear Island?"

Malik made an odd gesture, like he was still debating it himself. "So I go to the island, kill the lord, his son, his wife, and three of his daughters because, well only the youngest looked good enough to even take as a salt wife," he says. "And fuck me silly, that goddam night we got attacked. By goddam bears. Hundreds of them," he said, looking completely serious. "I'm about to wet my wick on this little cunny and a gods-damend bear the size of a horse bursts into the fucking castle, mauled dozens. That bitch picked up her dead dad's sword and near killed me from surprise, and after we saw a bear open a fucking door, well, we decided that ain't no piece of either pussy nor goddam land worth fighting an actual army of real life goddam bears for."

Killion stared, blinked, opened his mouth to respond, abruptly closed it, paced the dais, opened his mouth again, closed it, shook his head, then sat back in the chair.
"Fuck Bear Island." he muttered, rubbing between his eyes with thumb and forefinger. "Storm God's cock, they can have it."
Malik did not strike him as a liar, besides, a liar would have come up with a less outlandish story. After all he had seen and heard the past year, this was just par for the course.
He turned his gaze to Gioconda.
"Your captain is still absent then?"

Giocanda sighed "I was hoping you would have news instead. He has not returned, no, and no messengers."

Killion sighed, clearly disappointed.
"Then you will remain my guest here until he graces us with his presence, as collateral." he informed Giocanda. "You understand, I hope."

Giocanda merely cocks his eyebrows at the orders. "It makes sense. He will return. Or he will be dead. What if he is dead, what then? Being a hostage forever does not sound agreeable, and I am under contract with you."

"I suppose we will cross that bridge when we come to it, Braavosi." he replied, amicably, at least for a man who had just informed another they were a hostage. "Though let us hope for the best."

Giocanda shrugs "Life is Droll, as they say. Farewell prince, if a messenger reaches me from The Captain, I will notify you immediately." He stops for a moment "I may also send out messengers to tell him to get here quickly. It is of no use to have one such as I caged."

"Only if you concede to having it read before it is sent." he replied, in the same amicable tone, assigning a handful of guards to the Braavosi. "Rooms have been made available for you in the palace."
