Clearly they aren't really. Also in agreement that Season 5 is fine. There is always a slower season, where things are moved into place. AFFC and ADWD are both really freakin' slow and the show gets a lot more done in a shorter amount of time. Here are two examples!
Books: Jon sits at Castle Black, counting sausages and doing nothing of import. Show: Jon goes to Hardhome and we get a sweet fucking battle.
Books: Tyrion is reduced to a travelogue of utter boringness. Feat turtles, definitely-not-Aegon, five different types of slavers, various fat men, replaceable sellswords and he still hasn't met Dany. Where do whores go? Show: Tyrion is in Meereen and meets Dany just over halfway through the season and it's GREAT. Even cutting most of his journey we still get all the best bits with Varys and Jorah. GRRM needs a new editor.
I could go on, but I won't. I like the show, even though it has mistakes. GRRM has made far, far more.

my issue isnt that the season is slow, sure it is a small factor but it wouldnt be so bad if the show was more gripping for me. my issue is that the quality has dropped significantly compared to previous seasons.

Unsurprising when the book they had to adapt was ADWD.

Can we not just accept that everyone has different views on what they liked in the book and the show and which is better? Foe example, I'm relieved we skipped the bulk of Tyrion's dreary slave journey because it's my least fave thing in Dance, which I think would have profited from fewer Tyrion and Dany chapters, but I loved the Aegon plot and I'm still gutted the show cut it. Having said that, despite my dislike of Tyrion's slave arc, I wasn't keen on the easy way Dany accepted Tyrion's presence and her wheel speech was stupid (in my opinion). As far as I'm concerned, it's all subjective anyway.

Nowhere did I say the opinions of other people were wrong. If you like those things that is entirely fine and not up to me. I was simply arguing why I liked season 5.

Congrats, Stan, you are now officially the most despicable human being in Westeros.

It makes you root for Roose. At least he only kills enemies.

Well...now I feel less guilty for loving Roose. Seriously though, the second anyone has the moral high ground they have to cut them off at the knees. STANNIS!

The actor is like 60. I don't have a problem thematically with the scene, but trying to sleep with those screams was painful.
