The Iron Fleet smashes through the ships as evening begins to fall, killing hundreds. As Lord Quentyn attacks the lead vessel, he boards and sees only a few armed Reachmen on the ship, whipping Ironborn prisoners to row and trusting the wind to use sails for movement. As he runs the men through, he notes that the galleons are smashing the lighter vessels to pieces. No one sees any sign of the Arbor Fleet's feared galleon corps.

Once the deck of the lead ship is cleared, Quentyn calls to the nearest commander, "It's a fucking trick! These are skeleton crews!"
His men free the prisoners.

As night falls, the Arbor fleet burns in the straits. Hundreds of Ironborn prisoners die, and many Reachmen as well, bu as the lonely sun sets no one has found any trace of the galleons.
