Robyn smiled at him and gripped his hand firmly, shooting down any notion of him kissing it.
"Well met, my Lord," she greeted, "we should leave as soon as we can then, the sooner we go, the sooner we can look north. "

The army begins setting out. It doesn't take long for them to see smoke coming from the ruined city. It looks like a dragon or a volcano had simply covered the entire city in green-tinged flames. Even Kalvin who has seen a hundred fights and more dead men than living ones is shocked at the destruction. Aaron is silent but a tear rolls down his bearded cheek at the carnage. Screams can first be heard nearly a mile outside the gates, which have been blocked by rocks and debris to prevent escape of those seeking shelter or distance from the flames. The men look afraid to even enter the city, but the one gate open is soon filled by Aaron and Kalvin's men. Kalvin and a strong force of his personal infantry head towards the Red Keep.
"What in the name of the gods has he done..." The dead clog the streets. Charred remains and the smell are nearly as bad as the simple fact of the devastation. Clumps of survivors huddle and cry, many of them burned badly themselves. Only a few thousand who survived by hiding in the Dragonpit's ruins escaped the worst of it. The Great Sept of Baelor is whole, but anything flammable has been evaporated by the fires.
As they reach the Red Keep, dozens of crying nobles huddle about, wailing at the loss of families and friends.

Robyn doesn't know what to think or to feel, having never even contemplated such devastation. There was nothing really to say. She felt a lump settle in her stomach. "One day... This will come round on Dayne..." She looks to the nobles, if anyone would know... Anything it was them."why did he do this?"

"We...we thought he was sealing the gates to force a fight on the Mud gate," a woman says. "Then they wheeled things from the old treasure rooms of the Red Keep out and the army left." She cried. "Then they lit the fires...and....and...his smile," she said. "He enjoyed it."

Robyn put a hand comfortingly on her hand, "Bryce Dayne will pay for this, you have my word. We are not going to let the suffering of King's Landing go unavenged."
She looked up and the crying nobles, then down at the woman, "Do you know what was in the old treasure room?" she asked, wanting information, but not wanting to push. They had been through enough.

"Gold, jewels, old weapons, armor," the woman sobbed. "Nothing worth such slaughter!"
Kalvin and Aaron investigate. Nick returns. He atches the tail end of the conversation. "There's fifteen thousand at the Dragonpit; the walls stopped the wildfire like they did dragonfire back in the day."

"There is nothing worth this... and nothing to forgive it." she confirmed.
"That is fortunate then," Robyn said, looking over in it's direction, that they lived.. I do not know what we can do with them.. they cannot stay here..."

"Eddard's Rest, then," Nick said. "For now, I guess. The Ironborn will come picking up scraps soon. Maybe Duskendale." Kalvin's voice calls out.
"Robyn! Quick! We found out what he wanted."

"Eddard's rest can-" She starts, but rushes over to Kalvin, when he calls for her, "what is it?" She asked, standing next to him, looking where he looks.

A huge pedestal is empty. "We had a tourney here. Balerion's skull sat here, in this very spot." Nick shook his head.
It's not possible."

"The skull of the Black Dread?" Robyn asked, looking confused, "What would Bryce Dayne want with that?" she thought out loud. She knew dragonbone made for strong armour, and weapons... but a skull? To burn a whole city.
"It can only be so heavy, what is not possible?" She asked Nick, looking round at him. "Could he use it for some kind of magic...?" Something crazy, like... make a dragon out of it... reanimate it or something.

"The dead white one," Nick said. "The ghiscari stole its head. He can't be that powerful..." Kalvin looks at him.
"That look implies he is that powerful." Nick shakkes his head.
"Maybe with the power he gains from fifty thousand dead in a wildfire massacre."

"So Dayne is allied with Ghis now?" She asked, thinking what else would go wrong. "Shall we assume he is powerful enough, rather than underestimate anyone," robyn suggested, she started breathing heavily, panic settling in, if Bryce managed to get anything even nearly as big as Drogon had been, "What does this mean?"

"More likely he stole the corpse," Nick said. "But who knows. If I understand the limits correctly, the damned thing shouldn't be able to fly or breathe fire. But then...this isn't really my area of expertise." Kalvin kicks the wall.
"Everyone has a fucking dragon except for us."

"We are so fucked..." Robyn said, closing her eyes and pushing the pads of her fingers into them, trying to relieve some of the pressure.
No. She was not going to curl up and despair.
"A dragon than can't fly or breath fire... is not really a dragon, is it not that that makes them so terrifying?"
