Amelia, dressed in a blue dress and with a thick coat came knocking on Oriax's door.

Oriax opened the door and stepped aside to allow Amelia entry in silence.

"Not a very talkative one, hmmm?" Ami said with a giggle. "No mind, I speak enough for two. Prince Benjen left me a note that I should come speak with you. You are... the sorceror?"

"I am." Oriax replied simply, inspecting Amelia with black eyes. "And you are the girl that wishes to dabble in the arcane."

"Dabble? Oh, it that the word Benny used? How silly of him!" She grinned and shook her head, plump cheeks pink from the cold. "My interest in the arcane is very professional."

"We shall see." Oriax replied. "How much study have you had to this point? And with whom?"

"Faeron Blackfyre taught me when I was in Qarth, and I learned a little from his sister Lyria in New Ghis. She gave me a book to study from as well," Ami said proudly.

Oriax raised an inquisitive eyebrow. The girl had learned more than he had expected.
"I assure you that studying under and Asshai is much different than under a Qartheen or Ghiscari...and not near as pleasant." he said with a crocodiles smile. "Though if you make it through the trials, you will put them all to shame."

"Let us hope so," Amelia replied with a challenging smile. "So what trials will I be facing then? You'll have to be ever so delicate with me; I'm only a girl after all!" She giggled.

"My order must face the horror of the Shadow to learn their art." he replied, scoffing at the request to be delicate. "There are other ways to teach, but few are pleasant. We will start slow, though. I would hate to lose the support of the prince if some unpleasant accident were to befall you."

Ami laughed and gave a shrug. "You can be as rough with me as you like; I've seen my share of terrible things out there." She paused. "I assume you are not staying at Eddard's Rest?"

Oriax smiled, doubtful of her claim.
"We sail for Kings Landing at first light. If you want to learn, you will travel with me. I will not teach the secrets of my order amidst the prying eyes of this ruin."

"More eyes in King's Landing, I would figure, and ones a lot less friendly," Ami quipped. "I will assemble some dresses then and meet you at the docks before dawn."

"True, but we will have privacy on the voyage." he countered. "I have paid for that much."
"Be ready to begin on the 'morrow, though I will leave you with your first lesson now. I have met great sorcerors and I have met fat sorcerers, but never a great fat sorcerer. Magic is about control. If you cannot even control your appetite, you will not succeed." he stated, not as a cruelty, but as plain fact.

Ami raised an eyebrow at that. "It seems they don't have any women in Asshai, mhmm? Never tell a girl about her weight; just a little lesson for now." She grinned. "Ta-ta!" With that she left.
