Reyna headed up to Fyodor's quarters some days after the tragedy. She had been visiting him frequently but also doing what she could to help with the devastation, as well as getting her own rest.

Fyodor is sitting on the edge of his bed. He smiles a bit weakly at her when she enters. Well, aren't you a welcome sight?"

"Am I?
Her heart fluttered as she saw him awake.
"I'm so pleased you're awake at last."
She ran forward and embraced him gently.
"How do you feel?"

"Like I got hit by a tidal wave," he notes. "I saw that the city looks destroyed...what in the hells happened?"

"The water rose up and destroyed it," she said. "It was awful. I might have been killed, if I hadn't been out riding with the women. The shock made me lose my senses for a moment. And one of our guards went mad and had to be killed."

Wow, sounds...intense? You're all right?" He touches her breasts in teasing concern. Obviously if she was running around talking to him she was better off than he was.

She batted his hands gently away from her breasts.
"I'm fine. Are you sure you're up to that sort of thing. You were asleep for days, my dear?"

"Dreaming of doing just that. I was just touching," he gets puppy dog eyes.

She smiled and sat on the bed next to him.
"Well, perhaps I might let you. Since you've not been well and all. But you might have to get me in the mood. I've been so worried about you, and seeing the tragic loss of the city...I've not been thinking about my own pleasure since that day."

"It is...horrible," he agrees. He pulls her to him and lays down with her head on his chest, stroking her hair. "I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you, love."

"I know," she said. "It wasn't your fault. None of us could have guessed it would happen. It's just so...horrid. And it's my fault too. Arania says it's not but I think the Drowned God did it to punish me."

"I strongly doubt that, else he'd have buried Barrowton many years ago," he said with a laugh. "Surely women from the islands have married mainlanders before? Didn't Harren the Black LIVE on the mainland?"

"Yes, but he was a king, and kings do as they please. The king might have accepted us. But my father didn't. Perhaps that's what angered the Drowned God."
She sighed and cuddled closer to him.
"You're a well respected lord in the North, my dear, but to my people, our marriage is a step down for me. And never mind the fact that nobody in the Iron Islands has any money except that which they have stolen from somebody else. So...yes...it's not the same as Harren the Black. I don't have ships and men to crew them. I can't claim our union is an attempt to conquer the North, can I?"

"Better not be. The rest of your women are ugly," he chuckles. He kisses her neck.

"Be thankful you have me and not some other woman then," she retorted. "But at least I know you won't stray from me."
