Jory frowned. "Cassadar is still alive? I thought the magic goddess killed him, or something."

"The list hasn't been updated in a bit, it seems. But Cassadar is definitely dead. We carried his corpse here, and then The Crowl used his skull for a drinking goblet. I suppose nobody gets the reward, then. None of us truly killed him, though that sorcerer Oriax did a fair bit." He folded the list up and handed it to him. "You can join me in the hunting of these bandits if you like. I have extensive experience with them."

"And how will your quest be more interesting than the Sorcerers? That man always seems to be at the center of big things." Jory scanned the list.

"I'm not entirely fond of sorcerers. The choice is yours, but looking at the rewards on this list, I can make myself quite the living with just two or three of their heads." He pulled his sword back out again, running it along the edge of his shield. "I like to know who and what I'm fighting."

"So do I. That's why I scout out my targets before I shoot them. Your offer seems interesting." Jory turned to leave, than stopped. "I shall come back with a yes or no on the morrow. In the meantime, I have business to complete. Enjoy your day." He walked off.

Nyles knocks at Oriax's door. "Hey, those people you sent came and tried out." "People?" Oriax asked, opening the door. "I only sent one." He shrugged. "Nevermind, how did they fair? My apologies, but I am not one to judge a warrior's martial worth. You seemed more fit for the task."

Nyles shrugged. "Worthwhile arrow targets, at least. The one with the tits can fire a bow, and some skinny little scarred man was even better." He half smiled. "Not sure I'd trust either in a straight up melee, though." He yawned.

"I see." Oriax nodded, considering the sellsword's words. "Have you ever been North of the Wall, Nyles?"

"Never wanted to go, never plan on it. All that's up there is cold and wildlings." He looked at him curiously.

"Is that so?" he asked with a strange smile, remembering his vision concerning monsters of legend facing men with axes made of bone. "I believe otherwise."
"The Iron Islander has offered use of his ships for a price. I plan to set sail for Kings Landing to resupply and then depart on the longer journey from there. I ask that you acccompany us at least to the city, though I will pay most any price for you to accompany us further."

"Beyond the Wall? In winter? Are you mad?" Nyles looked confused. "Even the northmen don't sail fleets up past White Harbor in winter. The storms will end you, if the icebergs don't."

"It is the most likely place for those that want the goddess born again to re-attempt the ritual." Oriax replied, though less sure now. Westerosi weather was not his area of expertise. "Either way, Kings Landing first, preferably after recovering the tome lost. A divination will decide our course from there."

"Shouldn't you...uh, divine now, then?" Nyles looks confused still.

"I doubt our hosts would approve of my methods." Oriax answered. "Methods sellswords and Iron Islanders will have less qualms about."
He sighed, remembering that the small flask of sap he had kept would likely work even better than blood. He was loath to use it.

"It doesn't involve that lady who is following along, does it?" He chuckles. "Blood and all."
