"I am looking at you now,"her eyes mesmerized by the darkness of his.
"Yes, I was drinking and enjoying a meal in the backroom of a tavern. I could not really tell you what happened, all I know there was a crash and I woke up face down in some water in the dark, until Jason found me."

"Miraculous that you survived when countless others perished." he stated. "Well it seems that fool is good for something at least."

Raven laughed softly at his comment,"I do not really know the man, but he seems true enough. Especially to save a bastard like me."
"And I am greatful to be here and breathing air."

"True men are often the greatest fools." he said softly. "Blinded by prejudice and misconceptions about that which they do not understand."
"Being a bastard makes your life worth less?' he asked. The Westerosi obsession with birth had always intrigued him. In Asshai it was what you could do that mattered, not whether your birth came from a hold union. "Blood holds the same strength whether from a beggar or a king."

She nodded,"Well if he is a fool, he was brave one." The talk of her being a bastard made her frown a little,"Yes here, it is worthless, It will not matter what I do, I will always be a bastard."
"I have the blood of the Blackwood, but I can not do anything that would make a difference in my life that would pardon me from being what I am." She turns her gaze from him,"Sometimes, I wish I could leave this place and find my destiny."

"Perhaps you should." he said, opening his book once more. "It is a large world out there. Grander and more wondrous than this backwater continent leads its people to believe."

Grinning,"I would like to, but my coin is scarce. My worldly adventures stop here until I either find a dragonpit full of money or I hop a ship as a stowaway." Her smile dropped at the thought,"And they may not bode well for me."
"So reluctantly I sit and am forced to stay in the backwater continent, as you call it."

"Do you not have any talents that could earn you coin?" he asked, carrying on the conversation as he read. The woman was certainly attractive enough to earn passage in at least one way. Any shackles that kept her from leaving were of her own design.

She slipped her arms from her sleeves and let the top half of her gown fall away, baring her body to the waist. She reached out to take the sword from him. "It had better be a good one, it's what the guards were using to protect us ladies. Though I guess swords aren't much good against magic."[/quote]
"Well, let's see your fighting stance," he says with a chuckle. He empties his flask, then turns it upside down with a disappointed look on his face. He walks to his abandoned gear and draws his own one handed sword.

Arania rose from the bed, holding the weapon before her in both hands. "Funny to practice with live steel when half my gown's off. One of us has an unfair advantage."

Raven shrugged, then chuckled."I can be a good enough sellsword", she smiled,"all I need is an opportunity to prove it."
"Hopefully, I can join this merry little band and make a name for myself."

"Like I'd fight a half naked lover; you'd kill me while I was focused on your breasts," he says with a grin. "Hold it one handed; you don't have any freedom of movement with a double handed grip. If you're too weak to," he grins, "then get stronger." Kalvin holds his sword left-handed. "Your pinky and your ring finger should never loosen their grip, but your other two fingers can have some give to absorb the shock of hitting something." Without warning he slaps her blade, with a speed she has trouble following, but she manages to hang on. "Now, do that five hundred times a day. But, you know, with clothes on if I'm not the one you're sparring with."

Oriax raised an eyebrow. It seemed the bloodlust inherent in Westerosi men had spread to its women.
"I am not sure where my journey will take me next, but if the last confrontation is any indication, the quest will undoubtedly take a few skilled blades if it is to succeed. I will not languish here to see this ruin rebuilt and will depart as soon as my studies are complete."

"Five hundred?" She let her sword arm hang at her side, resting from the weight of it. "Are you serious?" She hefted the blade again, attempting the grip he had recommended. She was stronger than she looked. After all, carrying huge stacks of books around is a decent workout. She swung it a few times, back and forth. "I see what you mean. Hmmm..." She looked from him, to the sword, and then smiled mischievously and attacked.

Jory rode through the tangled wasteland of what was once Eddard's Rest. Water splashed at his legs as his mount stepped in a puddle. What in the name of The Seven happened here? A dead man stared at him with pale eyes, floating above the waves, his nose lightly covered in fresh snow. He stopped his mount at the edge of one of the two hills that had weathered the storm, looking up at the castle. A small chuckle escaped his lips, as he slid off his horse and stepped into the exposed courtyard.
