Curious, Oriax cautiously follows the newcomers. He had not expected competition from the Westerosi, but this could not be coincidence.
The blood red sap sparked a morbid fascination in the sorcerer. He read that weirwoods possessed some arcane link. He dipped a finger in one of the sticky crimson puddles and touched it to his tongue.

Nyles looks at him oddly. The sap tastes sweet and sour and bitter all at once, and as he touches it to his tongue, he sees in his mind's eye a comet of blue fire, streaking across a black void, moving so fast his mind bends imagining it.

Crowl goes from his questioning of the man and scans the immediate area. He see's two men disembarking from a boat and wondering who the hell they are brings his two companions attention towards the duo as well.

"Ser Titus, see who those two men are," Benjen says, staring down at the now dead man who had confessed his master's plan. "We wait for the others to arrive."

The others are not long in arriving. Kalvin and Justin Mallister have the lead, with Uhtred and the others not far back. They now number about forty fighting men in total, with many fine swords and claws and hammers and axes between them.

Titus worked his way back towards the water slowly, carefully eyeing the two strangers to determine their intent. Satisfied that they were not likely to put an arrow through his chest, he approached. "Who goes there, and on what business," he called out from about 20 paces.

Intrigued by the properties of the sap, Oriax removes a small glass vial from his robes. He carefully fills it from the viscous stream by the roots and corks it, returning the vial to the pocket it had come from. He was quite aware the men on the hill had noticed them and waited for their scout to approach.
"A representative from the magister of Asshai and my companion, sent to investigate some disturbing magical reports in this region." he answered honestly, noting the slain men. "And you?"

Titus was baffled. "Me? I'm Titus, well, I'm Ser Titus Grafton. Asshai?" he contorted his face, "that's a damn long journey to investigate anything."

This backwater and their prancing knights. Oriax had spent more than enough time dealing with them when he fled the Reach.
"What is occurring here is not limited to the Sunset Kingdom. My lands feel the affects of whatever Is happening here and I mean to amend that." he replied, his voice echoing from beneath his silver mask. "What do you understand of the matter at hand?"

"Not much," Titus said, looking at the bizarrely clad man with a blank expression. "There is a man named Cassadar who thinks he's stopping the raise of some evil goddess, but he's killing an awful lot of innocent people in the process. There is obviously something strange going on, because I've seen things shouldn't be possible and it seemed to coincide with a book I found in the Mountains of the Moon. I don't know, much, I'll bring you to the Prince, but be mindful, I'll cave the back of your fucking head in if you so much as look at him cock eyed."

Oriax thought back to his studies in Asshai to try and remember if he had heard anything regarding raising a goddess. The mention of his book piqued his interest, much more than the slaughter of any "innocents."
"Lead the way then." he said coldly, ignoring the threat. These Westerosi were little better than apes with steel. Magic was as fear inducing to them as fire to an animal. "What kind of impossible things have you seen?"

"Beasts capable of at least primal thought, comprised of the bodies of many dead men interconnected dying on the end of my sword. Does that do anything for? Prince Benjen may have brought the book, I know not."

Oriax has heard that such was theoretically possible many many years before, but in the centuries since Valyria fell no one has ever been close to such deeds.

"That sounds like pre-Doom sorcery." Oriax mused, having thought such feats impossible. Whatever the source of this magical chaos, it must be powerful indeed.
He followed Ser Titus to his group, becoking Nyles to accompany him.

Prince Benjen observed the group as they came up to them, holding out a gloved hand to Oriax. "Prince Benjen Stark," He said calmly.
