Character's Personal History:
Godric Tully was born in the year 343 after Aegon's Landing, about a fortnight after the signing of a treaty that ended the Second War of Succession. He was born a small and frail infant, and his mother bled out in childbirth; having been pregnant and trapped inside Riverrun throughout a brutal 6 month siege, the young mother just did not have enough to sustain both herself and the child. Many expected Godric to die, but the dark haired infant with serious looking grey eyes refused to succumb to the elements, and survive to grow more hale and robust by the day.
Over the years he grew into a highly skilled swordsman, jouster, and rider; Godric was knighted half a fortnight shy of his twenthieth name-day. His father married against when he was three years old; his first sibling, a brother, was born in 348 and a sister was born in 352, though Godric's stepmother died giving birth to her and the girl was sickly, only living a year before she fell ill and died. In that same year, Godric's grandfather died, and his father inherited the Lordship of Riverrun and the title Master of the Trident. Godric's brother accidentally drowned one day, when he fell into the Red Fork while picnicking outside of the castle, and the 9 year old boy was swept downriver before Godric could save him; his failure to do so has haunted his dreams in the years since and it is something that he has not spoken of to anyone, save Riverrun's long-dead previous Maester. His father's third wife was only a few years older than Godric himself, but she bore Lord Baldwin five children; three sons and two daughters. One of those sons was killed as a boy, falling from a castle parapet as he tried to climb the side of a tower, in the year 371. Four years later, another of those sons was killed in a tournament at the Crossing, kicked in the head by a flailing courser. Godric's two sisters are both beautiful and more than half his age, though he is fiercely protective of them. His only surviving brother is married with a young son, though he is devoted to his mother, whose influence in Riverrun was significantly curtailed when Godric inherited the Lordship in 375.
At 36, Godric is unmarried and has no children that he is aware of; this is a rarity, especially among noblemen, and the lack of an heir is always something to make a man nervous. Thus far, he has delayed officially declaring his brother to be his heir, despite pressure from his late father's widow to do so.
Character's Reputation:
Godric is known as one of the more eligable bachelors in the Kingdom of the North; a powerful vassal to Eddard's Rest, Riverrun's might surpassed by few others and they have gained a reputation as fierce warriors in the years of constant strife with the Lannisters and the Goldlands. Lord Godric himself is not particularly tried in battle, but he has taken part in innumerable skirmishes on both sides of the border in the last twenty years as both a Knight and a squire and has acquitted himself well commanding men. He is known as a skilled jouster and horsemen, and an exceptional swordsman. Lord Godric is also known as a pious worshiper of the Seven however the depths of his devotion are not nearly so deep as some.
Character's Special Ability:
Blood in the Water: When fighting in the Riverlands, Lord Tully's men always get at least one free round of attacks on a successful routing roll.
