They all show up and take seats, waiting for the Lord of Highgarden to inform them of their next move.

Rycherd spread a map out on the table in such a way that the seated lords could see it.
"You no doubt have heard that the Faith has invaded the Kingsland. Blackhaven is under siege by the forces of Lord Yronwood and that of the Faith Militant. The question my lords, is that if we intervene, then how and where?"

"And why?" Lord Caswell asks. "Lord Yronwood's hatred for Lord Dondarrion is well documented, and I don't think any of us have any love for the Dornish."

"I have no love for the Red God either." replied Rycherd, "Lord Yronwood, for all he is a Dornishman, is still a faithful adherent of the Seven and Dondarrion a heretic. If we must make choices my lords, I would prefer to fight alongside a man of the Faith rather than a heretic."

"I mean, why make a choice at all? Lord Yronwood's blood grudge is not ours, his ruler is not ours, and Dorne and the Stormlands bleeding each other is of no concern to us." The other lords shrugs along.

"Lord Yronwood has offered an alliance between House Yronwood and House Tyrell and I have accepted. This union has been blessed by the Seven." replied Rycherd.
"Even now my sister is on the way to Yronwood to marry Lord Oberyn's heir. His own daughter is here at Highgarden and will marry a man of House Tyrell. An alliance with the second most powerful lord in Dorne and whose brother is married to the Princess of Dorne, will do much to safeguard our southern border. However under such an arrangement, we have obligations.
"Not to mention our obligations to the True Gods" he added piously.

Lord Caswell shrugs at that. "As you say, my lord. The relief armies under Lord Morrigen were nearing Blackhaven last I heard, and rumor is having it that Lord Oberyn was slain in an attempted ambush of Lord Baxter two weeks ago." He strokes his chin. "The final assaults are probably underway, or even completed."

Rycherd gave a small start, not having heard the rumor about Lord Yronwood's death. If correct, that meant his sister was Lady of Yronwood. Also it put a slightly different light on his plans.
"Yronwood's death has been confirmed, Lord Caswell?"

"With many cavalry, Lord Rycherd. Such is the word, anyway."

Rycherd nodded in affirmation. He beckoned to a guard. "Send word to my lady mother. Inform her of the likelihood of Lord Yronwood's death. I want her to break the news to the Lady Ellyn."
When the guard saluted and left, Rycherd turned back to his map and his lords. He perused it for a moment.
"Our host will be broken into two, one under my command and one under yours, Lord Morrys." he said glancing at Lord Tarly.
"Both will proceed to Ashford and from there will split, one going here." He pointed at a place on the map. "And the other here." he said moving his finger eastwards.
He glanced around at the lords. "Any questions?"

The lords shake their heads, apparently having none.

"Then my lords, you have your orders. We move out at first light."
As the other lords shuffled out, Lord Rycherd drew Morrys Tarly aside. "I have a slight modification of the orders I gave to the others." he said. He pointed at the map at another location. "I want you to take your men and move here. Any incursions...deal with them as you see fit."

"Of course, my lord. I shall be done." He is still expressionless. "Hopefully they come."
