Rycherd escorts the Yronwood girl into his solar and sits her down.
"How was your journey here my lady?" he said kindly.

Ellyn is quite petite, only five foot one, she has dark blue eyes and dark brown hair. "It went well, my lord, though it is quite cold, now; our maester said he expects the white ravens to come any day now."

Rycherd nodded.
"Your father and I have come to an arrangement where you will marry one of the men of my family, while my sister Elinor will become your brother's wife. How do you feel about that?"

"I am fine with it," she says airily. "I knew I wouldn't be in that boring castle forever. You know there aren't even trees in sight of it?"

Rycherd chuckled.
"Is that so? I have never been to Dorne. But I will take your word for it. No doubt you will find Highgarden very different. Trees, groves and fountains, shady courtyards, and marble colonnades make life here very pleasant. And of course you will no doubt enjoy sailing in a pleasure boat along the Mander."
He rose and walked over to a table to fill two goblets of wine. He handed her one.
"So there is the question of your husband then. My brother Ser Jon Tyrell is a very eligible candidate and only four or five years your senior. My nephew Arthur is twelve, but you may consider that to be a little young. However he is the heir to Highgarden and also heir to Brightwater Keep. My brother Ser Godfrey Flowers is my seneschal, but your father may consider that marrying a bastard is beneath his own family. Rightly I'd say. And then there is myself. I am, however, at least fifteen years your senior."

She shrugs. "Why marry an heir when you can make one, my lord?" She licks her lower lip and gazes at him.

An ambitious girl, thought Rycherd. Or well schooled by her father. Perhaps both.
"Indeed. So a marriage with a man fifteen years your senior would be pleasing to you? Do you consider yourself capable of carrying out the duties of the Lady of Highgarden?"

She shrugs. "If fifteen years hasn't made you soft," she comments with a laugh. "I have been well taught by the maester and septas of Ywonwood, my lord, I assure you."

Forward too, thought Rycherd.
""I already have a son, though as a bastard he cannot be my heir. Philip is only three years younger than yourself. Is that a problem?"

"Not unless he dreams of being an heir," she comments. "I hardly expect my lord to have been entirely chaste."

Rycherd stood.
"Very well my lady. I will have a guard to escort you to your chambers and my lady mother will be along shortly to meet you. Please feel free to regard Highgarden as your home."

"Thank you my lord," she says as she stands to await her escort.
