"Without ANY weapon? Impossible unless you are willing to wait for starvation." He regards her. "Now, if you mean without a conventional weapon, well...take the anesthetic you know how to make, mix a generous portion into a drink, and the heart will not know to keep beating."

"I did not mean poisons," Ami said, crossing her legs again, as she loved doing (if it wasn't obvious). "You teach the Warlocks, the magicians. Surely you know many more ways to murder?"

He chuckles. "The higher mysteries? You have a long way to go before you could kill someone with no weapon. And there is always a price." He slices his palm, lets the blood flow out, then she sees it form a small human form and slowly walk towards her, a perfect replica of her in liquid, but no more than two inches tall. It leaves very tiny little crimson stains on the table as it marches. "The breasts aren't quite to scale but I don't want to faint from blood loss."

Ami chuckled. "How very droll, Faeron. So how did you do that?" She paused for thought. "Perhaps you could teach me some of the simpler things involved with the higher mysteries?"

"First lesson. Magic requires at the least either fire or blood. The strongest is your own blood, then fire, then others' blood. But, of course," he leans in, suddenly looking dangerous, "you can take a lot more blood from others than you can yourself."

"Which would you recommend for me to learn; fire or blood?" Amelia asked, before remembering the Targaryen words. "Fire and Blood... interesting..."

"The real magicks require both, my dear. Or other bodily fluids. And, yes, their words reflect what was important to Old Valyria. Their demon goddess of magic devoured blood and fire in quantities we cannot imagine today." He steps to her, faster than she remembers, and suddenly he seems less the nerdy academic and more the sort who may once have rubbed elbows with Vhagus or Cassadar. "You must have the talent, though, or all is useless."

"The talent, of course," Amelia said, jumping just a little when he suddenly moves so swiftly. "And, do you think I have it? I would be ever so sad if it should turn out I do not."

"Only way to find out...fire and blood." He pricks her finger, then his own, then says a few words and runs a candle under their hands until she wants to scream in pain. After three amazingly pain-filled seconds, their blood bursts green, just for a moment. He grins at her. "You'll never be Zenobia, but you can certainly learn something."

"Good gods..." Amelia muttered, holding her hand and simply staring at the spot where the blood had flared green. "I... want to be the best I can." She smiled. "Show me!"

"THAT, now, well, that would be my pleasure." He grins.

"Where shall we start?" The girl said, getting up and walking about the room in excitement. "I liked the blood fire thing, that was pretty!"

"Then read this. Oh, right, you'll need to learn Valyrian for the good stuff." He smiles broadly. "y fee keeps getting higher and higher. I'll be Lord of Runestone before long."

"I think my father would have something to say about that, Faeron," Ami told him with a small laugh. "So what do I do now to pay you? Anything else to drink? Eat, maybe? Breath in?"

He chuckles. "I'll get what I need out of you. I am quite sure of it." He kisses her quickly. "First lesson; the quicker someone's heart is beating, the more anger or fear or love or lust...the stronger the spell."
