Joanna didn't really have much to say about Edward Stann anymore. She eyed the dagger suspiciously before pulling it away it in one swift movement. "What wager?" she asked, weighing the blade in her hand.

As she asks, he produces another dagger and considers. "Feel free to name the stakes. Be reasonable, now."

"I am not fighting you," she told him as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, and grinned. "I just wanted a dagger. To.. you know," she picked up an apple and cut it in half. "Split apples and such," she said contently and took a small bite.

He grinned. "Excellent. All you had to do was ask. Asking can get you quite a lot." He leans back with some of his wine. "Now, if you had to bet, who do you think is going to be the heroic one to rescue you and spit my head on a spike?" He shrugs. "My bet would be on you."

Joanna didn't reply before she had finished her half of the apple. "You think I will put your head on a spike?" she asked. "There is a reason people like us have minions, you know. If I all I have to do is ask, then answer me this; what does Cassadar want with me?" It was worth a shot, she figured.

He grins. "You'll rescue yourself, more like. Someone else will probably actually stick my head to the gate. Although, it's in you, to do it, I think. Wear breeches when you climb though, so you don't give the smallfolk too much of a show. Like Serrett." He chuckles. "He drinks too much, and talks even more." At the thought of Cassadar, he sighs.
"From what I can gather, he's going to plan some frame-up to start a war between the Goldlands and the North, or some such. I really don't know."

Joanna narrowed her eyes. "You mean Tomas?" she asked. At least he was pretty. Shrugging it off like she didn't care, Joanna continued: "Surely he could've made that happen without kidnapping me. Wasn't Meghan's death enough?"

"Apparently not, seeing as you aren't at war." Nicholas sighs. "I have a feeling my entire idea about his goals are completely wrong. This job isn't anything like the rest of them."

"Then.. why do it?" Joanna asked. She studied Nicholas and bit her lip.

He chuckles mirthlessly. "I've got a reputation to maintain." He makes a few clicking noises with his tongue as he thinks, his eyes absently staring at the finer points of her anatomy.

"Then how come I've never heard of you?" Joanna asked sharply. She crossed her legs, the skirts of her new dress darting up a few good inches to bare some smooth skin.

Nicholas arches an eyebrow. "Because I'm not some shiny knight like Ser Markus...well, I guess that doesn't work anymore, or Hollis Clegane, or Morrys Tarly, or even your father back in his day. My reputation is not being known, and finishing a job that I start." He still looks a bit disturbed. Snow doesn't like not knowing things. He takes note of her skin showing, but not overly much.

"You are a murderer and a kidnapper," Joanna said smugly. "Which is soo much better than being a shiny knight, you're right. I am sure your folks are happy. Who are they, anyway? Until now, I had never seen you, but you do resemble someone I met at the meeting."

"Let's not worry about my parents. I have indeed murdered men, though I think I could make a fair case for all of them deserving it." He looks annoyed. "You're my first actual kidnappee; the rest were criminals on the run. I feel like I did all right for, you know, my first try and all." He sounds curiously insecure about that.

"I've never been kidnapped before, either," she said and poured herself some wine. "Is this trip going to take long?" she asked. Never in her life had she gone through a whole trip on board without throwing up, being prone to sea sickness and all. But since it was a day of firsts..
