"Yes." He looks annoyed at the event having occurred. "She is...ill. She's afraid of Rhaegys, though, and so she runs away from him."

"Rhaegys...is that the dragon or the rider? Another sibling?" She leaned in interestedly, terribly curious about what had just happened. "Does it happen often? Oh, I'm sorry to be questioning you so much, but Im trying to understand what just happened. Are we in danger here?"

"The dragon. Cassana usually rides him. Mother flies by every few weeks...to remind us she's alive. Most of the time she is busy burning armies down south, or hunting khalasars for sport." He shakes his head. "She does an excellent job of stopping them from uniting, though; they fear bunching up and attracting her wrath. Drogon can cover twelve hundred miles in a day if he wants to."

Arania was silent. "Prince Aenys told me of the green dragon...Rhaegys. But I heard nothing of te black until we were in Volantis." She gulped down some wine to calm her nerves. "Why does your mother not live here, in the city? I am sure you could use the second dragon."

"She's utterly out of her mind. She conspired with one of my...illegitimate brothers to kill our third dragon, then went horribly mad and fled with Drogon." Sirius sighed. "The war has only gotten worse, since."

How very strange, thought Arania, though she knew more than just Sirius' mother had been mad in the Targaryen line. Of course the war had gotten worse...between the death of the dragons and the insane mother...it would look very bad indeed for the Targaryen rulers. "That is very unfortunate." Arania was grateful for the King's easygoing manner and how readily he answered her questions. She still felt there was more to the story.

"Indeed. Unfortunate." The giant green dragon lands atop the pyramid. "I've told Cassana a thousand times not to use the roof..." Sirius mutters. "Now, hopefully we may enjoy an undisturbed luncheon."
Kalvin looks about. "Well, King Sirius, I must ask, may I head south, and visit the frontier? Part of the negotiation process is figuring out what the situation is..." He nods.
"...To see if we're worthy allies." He grins. "Of course, please, with my blessing." He looks to Arania and Danya. "Of course you two are more than welcome to remain here in the city, and explore its many wonders."

"Thank you, your Grace," Danya said with a polite nod. "Are there any particular sights you would recommend?"

"Yes, in fact. The fighting pits. If there's not fighting, there is an enormous market with foods from all over the world and all sorts of amazing things to buy and see." Sirius nods. "Or I suppose it depends on your interests."

"The fighting place sound like an interesting place," Danya agreed. "I suppose Meereen's underworld is rather vast?"

"Underworld? It's perfectly sanctioned...I abhor useless violence, but it keeps the men trained and our coffers full. A necessary evil, if you will." He looks her over. "You dabble in the arts martial, do you not?"

"You have good judgement, your Grace," Danya said, an amused look on her face. "Daggers, crossbows, anything that involves sneaking around or disguising myself." She laughed. "My confession."

"Your hands," he says, "not callused from knitting, and I doubt your arms got so lean from reading books and singing." He grins at her. "We know our warrior women here."

Danya smirked. "Well then; if you know of anything that would interesting a little girl like me I would be much obliged."

"My sister would spar with you, I'm sure. Cassana, that is."
