"Indeed. They hired some mercenaries from Sothoryos, too; brutal men who ride creatures bigger than two horses into battle. But, my rudeness. Please, let me wash off, and meet you at the Great Pyramid for a proper welcome, yes?"

She smirked. Creatures bigger than two horses? And the Targaryens had dragons. "Do as you will, your highness. Don't discomfort yourself for our sakes." She curtseyed again, even though he had said not to. "I look forward to seeing the famous Great Pyramid with my own eyes."

"Good. I await you there, then," he turns and boards his ship again. Kal has a thoughtful look.
"Not what I expected. I confess it."

"No," she agreed. "After what I saw of Prince Aenys and the sisters...King Sirius seems, well, kingly." She looked around again at the destruction that floated in the sea around them. "And his navy is effective, to say the least. Against a surprise attack, he said? I am glad we did not sail sooner, or we'd have been in the thick of things." She laid a hand on Kal's arm. Touching him comforted her a bit, made her feel safer.

"Well, ole' Dustin would have kept us out of it..none of these ships here could catch our little corsairs. But, yes, it must have been epic. Even the Iron Fleet couldn't afford losses like that." Land is getting closer, and even from the distance the pyramid is obvious.

"I'm sure he would have...but it must have been terrible to see." She looked landward again. "I can see it from here, the Pyramid! It's splendid, isn't it, Kal? It seems everything is on a larger scale here in the east."

Having seen the Wall, Kal is nonetheless impressed. "It's even bigger than I'd thought." The ships approach the entrance to the river gate.

She licked her lips. "I can't wait to see the dragon. I wonder where they keep it." She frowned, not particularly wishing to see the other one. "Thank you so much for bringing me along!" She almost threw her arms around him, but she didn't.

"Of course. You've proven well worth the trouble," he winks at her, then kisses her lightly on the lips.

She beamed at him, touching the side of his face gently. "I am forever grateful you took the trouble."

He smiles. "Well, one day you can try wearing that ridiculous dress again to show me just how grateful." The gate opens and the ships pass through. "Who the hell makes a GATE for warships...what could even move stones...oh, right."

"I tried to wait up for you, but I fell asleep!" She stared up at the gate, open-mouthed, as it swung open to admit them. "I did say everything was bigger here..." As they passed through, she realized it could prevent one from leaving as easily as it could keep one out.

Kal notes her sudden fearful look. "We don't have anywhere to run anyway. I already thought about it." He hugs her to his side. "King Sirius seems like a good man. Let's hope were correct in that." They dock.

She nodded, resting her head against him as the men scurried to tether the ship to the dock. "I do hope so."
"So will we be heading straight to the Pyramid? And speaking to the King immediately?" She stared at it, off in the distance. Even from here, it looked enormous, dwarfing everything that was close to it.

"No, let's wash off, change, and eat a bit first. I hate being offered wine on an empty stomach." They walk off the ship, some men carrying their most important belongings.
