Character's Personal History:
Joanna was born to Stafford Lannister, Lord of Lannisport, and his first wife, Tyene of house Brax. She is about half an hour younger than her twin brother Jaymes. Their mother passed shortly after they'd turned four, after a long and tedious illness that had her chained to her bed for six months. Stafford had given up on his wife long before her passing and had found himself a new bride, the recently widowed Lauren Serrett, originally from house Lefford. Lauren had been married to the second son of Lord Serrett, but was known throughout the kingdom for her beauty, thus finding her way to the Lannister household. With her, she brought her only child named Tomas Serrett.
Never an obedient child, Joanna found it incredibly difficult to adjust to her new 'mother', whom she's hated with a passion ever since she set foot to Lannisport. Lauren, however, was not as amiable as she let on. Terrorising the Lannister twins without their father knowing about it was one of her favourite pastimes.
Joanna has always been sticking her nose to where it doesn't belong, mostly to gain information, because for her, information equals power. She is often leaving loopholes in her agreements that allow her to get her way and considers manipulating people as one of her favourite pastimes. Because of her snarky demeanour and her inability to genuinely connect with people, Joanna finds it difficult to care for many people other than herself. She loves her brother and father dearly, despite the latter's choice for a second wife, and has ambivalent feelings towards her step-brother.
She wasn't too close to her sister Meghan, whom she had always been jealous of for being their father's inarguable favourite.
At 19, Joanna was kidnapped from her Lannisport home by the rogue Nicholas Snow. To her great dismay, she grew so fond of the man during their long and tedious journey that she was almost heartbroken when he ransomed her off anyway, to some unknown rebel-lord in the Riverlands that went by the name Lewys Greenwater. The holdfast she was being kept in had been so unnoticable in its forgotten moors that Joanna seriously doubted she would ever escape her disgusting cold cell of a room. What was most likely after several weeks, but certainly felt like long, dragging months, the holdfast was sacked by Hollis Clegane's company. Later, upon learning that it had been an unidentified Greenwater soldier who had given Clegane her location, yet never turned up for the reward, Joanna has expressed doubts about the man's actual identity as well as the shady exchange, but has no one that will actually listen.
The whole incident was pretense enough for her father to wage a war against the northerners and Joanna's attempts to convince him otherwise were futile. Soon enough, she realized this was less about her capture by the rebellious riverlord and more about avenging Meghan's death. This, along with large number of Grafton knights lurking about lately, has been the final straw.
Additionally, she has been increasing her networks in order to support her brother with information in the war, as well as look into the dubious incident and the whereabouts of Nicholas Snow.
