Lord Bryce Dayne is estranged from his own children, so it is little surprise he has little to do with an unacknowledged bastard brother. "Speak. I heard you acquitted yourself well at the sept with...the Faith."

"That is kind of you to say my lord. Unfortunately despite our best efforts Ilyn Lordsbane managed to get away." Gerold paused a moment then continued. "Which is why I am here my lord. I am forming a company of Dornish warriors to track down the outlaw. These will be reliable oathsworn men not simple sell swords. After Lordsbane is brought to justice I intend to hunt other outlaws and collect their bounties."
"It would help if the company had a benefactor..."

"And what would said benefactor receive in exchange for his....largesse?" Bryce narrows his eyes. "I am no fool, nor coy, Gerold. Ask your question like a man." He looks about both ways. "Like my father's...son."

((Sorry got cutoff, at work so had to post what I had.))
"You would have the benefit of additional spears and archers should the need arise to call your banners. My men would need to be compensated of course though at a discounted rate. In addition you would receive a portion of all bounties. If you saw fit to provide a small parcel of land on the border for my company I would see it protected from those vile reachmen. I believe this venture could be profitable for both of us." Gerold concluded

"Gold I can grant. Land I will not. You must carve it out for yourself. And the Reachmen haven;t ventured to our borders since I impaled three thousand of them on spikes along the border, that they may know what line they cannot cross." Bryce continues staring ahead.

"Well now, I would assume that would deter most foes my lord. Gold will suffice then. I will see about carving out my own patch of land." Gerold was one and forty, unwed, with no possessions save his armor, weapons, and mounts. It was past time for him to acquire land and marry. "I appreciate that you took the time to meet with me my lord." He added

The mention of the name Lordsbane changed Gerold's demeanor. He seemed more intense, more focused. "He will be brought to justice Ser Ghaston. I swear it by the Seven! "I have no doubt, Ser Gerold." Ghaston replied, turning to depart. "If you ever decide to pledge your sword fully to their service, the Warrior's Sons would be honored to have you."

"Thank you Ser." Gerold replied vaguely not giving a hint of how he felt on the matter. It was certainly an option though he had business to see to first.
