Uhtred regarded her steadily "Trust was never a part of it. They gave me a job, and renegaded on the deal in the end. You have another job for me? Don't think I need to "prove" myself if you're looking for fighters."

"How charming," she said. "What do you now of the Citadel?"

"Seat of the Maesters. Stingy about letting people in to see their more secret archives. And quite possibly a annoyance to you from what I've heard around the city." Uhtred shrugs "Not a very defensible location, though I had some plans to defend it on my former ship."

Arania nodded. "I bet you did. The maesters want me dead. I have other ideas as to my fate."

Uhtred looked around to the men around him "a violent solution then, and one you're not bothering to hide"

"They are far sneakier than me," she said. "I have more gold and more men. I will use the advantages given me. But the swords are not for the maesters. The Faith Militant's remnants seek my end too."

Uhtred frowns "A pity. I had hoped to be able to see the secrets of the Citadel myself. A curious place, with much hidden I hear. The remnant then? What would you have me do?"

"Don't let them kill me, for starters," she said. "For second, I need some of you scouring the city for foreign agents. I sense some other force behind all this nonsense."

Uhtred nods, it was fair enough for now. Get some gold and place to sleep while he recuperated from travel and war. He looks to the men around him "We can go on shifts then for guarding, and patrol the city otherwise." he glances at Ariana "I assume you have more than just a feeling about this, and can point us in some direction. This city is vast after all, and no small amount of foreigners make their place here."

"I'd prefer you approach this as a stranger, for now," she said. "My men know this city and are stumped. I need an outsiders' perspective."

"Very well. It's your gold."
Uhtred'll have the majority stay as a guard then, and the ones left over go into the city. His first shift'd be in the guard, but unless something happened he'd head into the city near nightfall.

Uhtred heads into the city then, a dark cloak over his head

Morgan leads her men up to the Hightower. Approaching the guards, she said "I'm Lady Morgan Brax, here to see Lady Hightower. My brother Ser Arthur accompanies me."

They are let in. The place looks more like a proper fortress on the ground floor now; grim bearded killers on nearly every corner. "The Lady will see you upstairs, Lady Morgan," a knight says.
