Alright so Java and therefore chat no longer works on chrome. The reason for this is that Chrome no longer supports NPAPI,the technology required for Java apps. Google's Chrome version 45 which came out this month dropped support for NPAPI, which prevents Java from working. There is no workaround. Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari should still work.
So for this reason I will be unable to access chat a solid 90% of the time now since my school laptop (a google notebook) only supports chrome. I'll still be able to get on in the evenings on occasion and some sundays during the day. Just a heads up to explain why I'm almost never going to be in chat. It's not because I love you idiots any less.
Now, as much as I hate change, if we found a chat compatible with chrome I could be on literally 3-4 hours during weekdays as I have a lot of time to kill between classes but can't actually go home. Just throwing that out there, but if you all love java chat more than you do me (which is perfectly understandable) expect to see a lot less of me over the next 3 years.

As someone who has to use Firefox exclusively for chat, I support a chat change

The trouble is we haven't found anything as good as java in the past. Really the pinging function is what we need and java is the only one I know of that has that. Otherwise, chatzy isn't a bad option.

Chatzy actually has some potential for starting some fun new traditions. For example, you can title the room. So each day, whoever gets in chat first could pick the theme and make the room that title then post the link. For example: www.chatzy.com/38728162346756 The ability for each user to choose color is handy as well as the pretty cool command options in addition. What it's unfortunately lacking is the pinging and private chat. Though the solution I suppose would be to actually pay attention to chat if you're there instead of being an asshole (guilty of this one) and to use PMs or skype for private chat Anyone have a better option? As I said, if not I'm happy sticking with java, just wont be around much.
