"He never said he had one, everyone else did. But...he isn't what I expected, to be honest. Much less foppish." He sips at a wine, and it's apparent even he is annoyed at his ignorance. "Tonight, we must find out more. Ale and a roast boar seems more his taste than wine and sweetmeats."

Dacey headed into the inn and began at once looking for ale. She was in no mood for wine. She also looked to see if she was alone.

"Well then why the mummer's farce by the Volantenes, it seems foolish to put on a show like that. Unless their story was mixed with both truth and lies. But you're more likely to decipher all that then myself." Pol nodded, "That seems like his taste, he's more like a Westerosi than I would have expected. Maybe that is unsettling for some."

Being a tavern, Dacey is of course surrounded by people of every walk of life. She even notes a few Westerosi-lloking fellows not from the Indomitable. The ale is on the crown's expense, and is dark and bubbly.
Malryas thinks. "They certainly HAD a dragon at one point...but more likely, it's a stalling technique. They fear the rise of New Valyria more than any dragon, to be sure. They remember quite well what the old one did."

"Yes, it was more a symbol. Though you're right, there could have once been a dragon or two flying about, but they were finally taken down." Pol rubbed his beard, "The North, Iron Islands and this king all have something in common, we're all on the outside and fairly remote."

"We all need friends to survive...we are islands all, surrounded in a sea of enemies." Malryas made a face. "Poor examples of my meager skills at rhetoric. I wouldn't count out this dragon yet. I'd keep it on the frontlines were I the king." Malryas stand. "I should inform you, I was expecting the Lady Banefort. Our kingdoms have much to discuss before we meet the king again, I feel. Please stay. The ale's on me."

Pol shrugged, "Alright." Pol went over and helped himself to some of the ale. "Just some enemies are much closer than our friends are. What's that saying, "keep your enemies close"? Well I'd rather have my good friend beside me ready for battle."

"Friends close, enemies closer, I believe," Malryas thinks. "That way you've got them surrounded."

Not much time Janelle Banefort was shown into the room. She was wearing a airly, smokey grey dress, which helped keep her cool in the heat. She looked at the two men in the room for a moment and curtseyed.
"My lord," She said, in greeting to Malryas and looked at the Greyjoy Prince. "And My prince. I was not aware you would be joining us."

Pol shrugged, "I go where I please. To the annoyance of some maybe. We were just discussing friends and enemies before you arrived and our impressions of this Targaryen king."

"The more the merrier." She said with a smile and seated herself in the room, "Very serious things then, I won't trespass into who you view as your enemies but I am interested on your thoughts on the king."

"A man's man, and more westerosi than some of those people that were floating about on that grand ship of ours. Like I said to Bolton, it will worry some of our colleagues." Pol took a sip of his ale. "We'll know more when its time for dinner, but those are my thoughts right now. Did he manage to charm you?" He asked with a grin.

"Charm? I should say not, but there is such a diverse range of cultures in westeros, I think perhaps you shall need to narrow it down some before I will agree there, but he certainly had a western air about him. I am withholding judgement until I can speak with him myself." Janelle said, looking at the Ironborn. "Though I think I may resign myself to seeking the company of his advisers more than not."

"I doubt he has very many advisers if any. I didn't think he had much of the west in him, but maybe he just appeals to everyone in a certain way. He definitely isn't like those Volantene lords too worried about breaking a nail." Pol continued to drink from his mug and leaned on a table. "We can all agree he seems a competent leader. Even that would be an understatement. I'm still curious about the dragons, hopefully we get word back describing one if indeed someone of our group sees one."
