"Southron women don't speak like you, or brandish blades for everyone to see. The women on the isles can be the captain of their own ship like any other man. Some would consider that unladylike." He stashed away the other skin and popped open the one in hand and began to drink. He belched loudly and held up the skin for inspection, "Piss." He said. "I would never expect to say that the Dornish had b better drink in some underground rabbit's hole."

"Really? I rather like mine," she said. "But we don';t exactly produce much wine in the North. We're more like to have our own ale. Do you get many female captains in the Islands?"

"Ale is my poison," he stated as he took another draught from the skin. "I would be a liar if I said we have many, but the ones that are captain's have certainly earned it and have pulled their own weight. Men and women have the same thing in common in the islands, if you're weak then you'll never be a captain or earn the respect of a crew. Some women try to get females for their crew but," he shrugs, "It just isn't as good as a woman that earns the respect of hardened men. Do you fancy sailing?"

"Not much. I mean, I don't mind it but I don't love it either. And I'm more used to coastal sailings around White Harbor way. I've never sailed this far afield. before. I suppose your king thought it would cause offence to the Southron to send one of your woman captains with you for this?"

"Or maybe the captains refused to come spend their time with a bunch of greenlander spies. Believe me, most of the men here feel like they've drawn the short straw. The captains that were left behind are the lucky ones. That and I doubt two shits that my father is overly concerned about offending some Southron."

Dacey shrugged.
"Well, I don't know much about your customs, how could I know the reasons? But does that mean you don't want to be here any more than I do?"

Pol continued to drink deep before answering. "I can see some of the good in this journey, but I am not overly excited for it. It will go easier if there are some decent people to talk to. I'd much rather make the journey alone with my men, but us Westerosi want to present a united front right."

DAcey didn;'t care about united fronts but she knew that her opinion wasn't going to count for much here. She merely took another drink.
"So Bolton tells me. And yet...the kingdoms are split. It's a false unity. It will do no good if the Free Cities choose to act against us some day."

"Split yes, but the kings all agreeing for once does count for something doesn't it? Considering all our different customs and..prickly natures." Pol eyed her again, slightly inebriated from the previous drinking binge, "How good a fighter are you really?"

"Good enough," she said. "I'm not one for hand-to-hand but I can hold my own if need be. I prefer to strike with speed and skill, or else to stand with the archers. But never mind that. I find it strange that all the kings did agree on anything. I mean...some kingdoms so far apart it seems strange they should have any interests in common, and others have been at war with each other for years and years. It's...strange. This business of the Free Cities must be a danger to us all."

"Just curious, because I'd overpower you, and get in close." He continued drinking thoughts wondering around on the topic of all kings agreeing on something, "I'm sure they all thought it would benefit them somehow," he shrugged.

"I suppose."
She chose not to point out that getting in close was exactly what she needed her enemies to do if she was to stab them.
"Men," she murmured. "You just love to overpower a woman, don't you?"

"That is one of the things I like to do in bed or on the deck sure, though a woman on top? I won't complain. What is your fancy?" He asked while taking a long pull from his skin.

"Oh, I like many things, I just don't often find the right man to do them with," she laughed. "But I do like to be on top sometimes. It gives me the chance to take control."

"Women," Pol grumbled, "Always wanting to take control of men..." He chuckled, "How would you take control of a Prince then? Or any other man if you did find the right one?"
