Ser Morgan shrugged. "Maybe," he said. "No idea, myself. HEre our concerns are the tax collectors, not the politics. Homes are expensive."

"My son is squiring at Crakehall," he said, "my wife is in town with our daughter. They will be happy to see a real knight passing through. I haven't been the martial man of my youth in some time," he admitted. "But managing lands takes enough time. I have no idea how the high lords do it."

Philip did know. "They delegate to trusted competent servants." he said. "What high lord doesn't have a castellan or steward, maester or captain of the guard to do his will? Not to mention his vassal lords."
He drank from his cup. "I look forward to meeting your wife and daughter."

"It is what causes the plague of banditry during war; men who should be ruling are away and their lessees cannot properly handle the real duties of their master." He shrugged and continued on.
