Braavos has transformed a bit in the last three years; more ships with firepower, more visible soldiers, more everything, including gold. The Sealord's personal guard greet her courteously and one of them takes her to the court, which is nearly empty on the day on account of a minor Braavosi festival. Denys is seated behind a great ebony desk and he rises as Lisenya enters. The young Braavosi envoy notes a few guards and a man and a woman in loose green clothing near the Sealord. Denys politely nods his nod to the lady. "Lisenya," he said, "it's been ever so long since you've graced us with your presence here. I'm sorry I cannot offer my old home's amenities," he said, "but I hope you'll find this as much to your liking." He takes his seat and waves her to a plush one. The man flatly ignores her while the female, a pale skinned woman with bright blonde hair and green tinted eyes, stares at her intently, seeming to memorize her every feature.

Lisenya was dressed in her signature white dress, gloves and shoes and politely took the seat, a smile on her face. "This office is rather to my liking," She admitted. "Perhaps I will have to remodel my own room in Eddard's Rest a little to match this one." One of her hands stroked the top of the desk. "Though I will likely be unable to afford a desk such as this."
She turned and smiled at the woman who was studying her, before looking back at Denys. "Though very undiplomatic, I must point out that you have been very busy."

"I've always been very busy," Denys said. "You don't get gold without lots of hard work. Or influence, or power, or anything." He looks faintly amused. "Not every woman can wear white well," he said. "It is always a true pleasure to see someone who can prove the exception to the rule."

Lisenya gave a diplomatic smile, though she was genuinely thankful for the compliment. "How kind of you to say so. I can't say I like such a high level of military presence but crime is no doubt much lower than it used to be. A blessing." She smoothed out her skirt and crossed her legs. "I presume you have heard about the tourney that is to be held."

"In the North?" Denys asked. "The last time I went, I believe two wars were declared and a future queen got stabbed. I've always suspected my presence made such bad magic possible," he said in jest. "Crime is only a problem for those intimmidated or bribed by the criminals. I am not intimidated," he said, "and I positively cannot be bribed."

"Ah, but is Braavos not more than just you? Braavos is its people and many of them do not have the luxury of being invulnerable to crime. And yes, the tourney in the North. King Benjen extends an invitation for any noble of Braavos to attend... and of course to bring the beautiful young daughters." She laughed softly. "The unsubtlety of kings, hm?"

"I am sure many daughters will attend," he said with a ghost of a smile. "Many nobles, perhaps. As for the people of Braavos, many are scared of criminals or bribed. That is what the Sealord is for," he said. "to intimidate and bribe the criminals. Some can be killed but not bought, some can be bought but not killed. Some," he said, "can sense when the wind is changing, and adjust their sails accordingly."

"Sails - a fitting metaphor," Lisenya said with a small laugh. "His Grace will no doubt be disappointed that you cannot attend but he will be glad for all that do come. I could not say for sure but I believe he may consider a visit to Braavos in the near future."
She looked down for a moment, hand gliding over the desk again. "May I ask you a question that could be a little personal?"

"I am sure he will find Giulia Delasange to his liking," he said. "She is as gracious as beautiful." At her final question, he raised an eyebrow. He thinks a moment and waves his guards off. "Leave us. Stay, Diana," he added at the end, and the golden woman never moves. "Ask as personal a question as you like, my dear."

Lisenya waited patiently for the guards to leave before leaning slightly forward. "It concerns your former wife and my former employer. Her current situation being somewhat... unfortunate, I cannot help but be curious what you would have done had you captured her."

Denys smiled, just a shade. "Much less than it seems King Greyjoy has done. Much, much less. I had not thought I'd been so repugnant to her, that she'd lift her skirts and run off for no reason to fuck my cousin and then leave his service too," he said. "But from my...friends, in Tyrosh, I hear she's broken like a lute string f..plucked too hard. A shame," he said. "But I have two daughters now and hopefully a son on the way, so I suppose we have both learned our lessons."

"It certainly seems so," Lisenya said after a moment, studying the desk. "That fire she set in Myr didn't really sound like something she would have done before now. As for your children, I congratulate you. I hope your second marriage proves far more kind to you."

Denys chuckled. "She is wildfire, my dear; her previous masters only used her to light a fire, her new one wishes her to incinerate the world. Tools do not dictate their uses." He nodded. "I think you, my lady." He looked her over a moment. "And had King Benjen not rewarded your steadfast service properly?"
