Not really fought at the castle, but it's close enough for government work. Lord Vikary's scouts report that the enemy cavalry is camped on a wide, open field flanked by a river on the east side (not the Mander, a tributary), and rolling hills to their west. It's clear they've been able to scout the place, as it is designed specifically for a cavalry battle.

Ser Cedric of the non-Dayne variety is with Vickary's cavalry.

The castle at Bitterbridge is held by Queen Joanna's vassal Lord Caswell and it guards the stone bridge that crosses the Mander, close to where the river meets the Roseroad. The castle is small, made of stone and timber. The keep itself is not that tall, but the land is low and flat and makes it seem taller.
Lyonel's cavalry force approaches Bitterbridge from the south, determining if they can access the castle and therefore protect the crossing from being crossed by the Baratheon force.

Lyonel could waltz right in, but the massive cavalry force at his disposal cannot subsist for long on the more remote castle's meager stores. Heavy cavalry forces are a tool for battle. Scouts inform the western lord that Marshal Dayne is offering it about eight miles north of the keep.

Lyonel ordered a small portion of his men to secure the bridge against an assault and turned to meet Dayne's forces. A Dayne had been defeated at Myr and Lyonel hoped that recent history would repeat itself.
He sends scouts forward to look for any signs of weakness in the enemy formation. (Scout: 70) (SA1: + 5 bonus)

Round 1:
Lyonel (+330 this round): 518/131 Cedric: 155 Andre: 111
Big Cedric (+275 this round): 431/212 Symon: 129 Karla: 201
Lyonel's cavalry forma better wedge than the Order's formation, and the experienced horse commander smashes their right flank all to hell, killing hundreds in the opening charge, the battle fought over a wide span of three quarters of a mile as knights swuare off. It is by far the largest single cavalry engagement in the last century. Perhaps ever. Two Order and Stormlands men fall for every Goldlander, but as the Westerners on the right flank press their advantage, Andre Hill smashes aside three men and engages on the enemy commander, who kills him so effortlessly it must surely be a fluke. Immediately around the fallen giant is panic, but the rest of the battle flows smoothly enough.

Lyonel: 133 Symon; 99 (-35)
Lyonel lands another hit. The horses rear back and break the fight up before he can finish the fight.
Lyonel: 91 (-30) Symon: 133
Symon uses the recovery to land another blow on the Goldland lord, this time nearly unhorsing him. Lyonel's squire steadies his steed and pushes him back up before he falls.
Lyonel: 151 Symon: 89 (-70)
Lyonel hacks into Symon's leg, and arterial spray from his femoral bursts from his leg.
Lyonel: Winner! Symon: Loser!
Lyonel knocks the man off his horse and Symon Allyrion is trampled to death.

Round 2:
Lyonel (+218), -10 cumulative from being in rear: 351/108 Cedric: 167
Cedric (+200): 331/182 Karla: 161
The fighting continues unabated. Lyonel's men continue to leverage superior numbers to slowly drive the Stormlands cavalry back, although the Marshal himself and Karla Storm together slay and wound many as the fight progresses. The day is hot and sunny, no clouds in the sky, and knights fall now and then from exposure rather than sword.

Round 3:
Lyonel (+203): 346/122 Cedric: 139
Cedric (+179): 359/131 Karla: 191
The Stormlands cavalry reforms in a short break and Cedric and Karla form on the left flank and push back, and the Goldlanders find themselves driven back a bit. Lord Lyonel's wounds slow him considerably but he is able to shore up the line and counterattack, but the initiative has passed to the smaller army for the moment.

Lyonel seeing the Goldlands army falter slightly decides to use their superior numbers to press the issue and seize back the initiative. He moves to the front so his men can see him. Roaring at the top of his voice he redoubles his efforts to urge his en into the fray.

Cedric followed their valiant leader into the fray. Seeing as Vickary was one of their best commanders, Cedric figured he could take an arrow for him or something if it came to that. Not anywhere vital, though.
