Lyonel nodded. "Blackhaven is not far east of Harvest Hall. When we reach there, break off with a few men and do what you can to tie up some of the Baratheon forces."

"Sounds fine. Might even make it as far as Summer Hall if they're all like this." Korben said, curious if the baratheons had truly made this endevour a waste of time. If they intended their force to just sit in their castles, then they could rot there for all Korben cared.

After three weeks, Maester Fremont's massive artillery barrage forces the castle to surrender. Virtually no one on either side is killed in the siege, and it is occupied without further incident.

Korben rides along the walls of the recently taken castle, looking around at the force left around as he rides towards Maester Fremont, "Excellent work on this seige, even if it took some time..." Korben says as he dismounted from his horse, "I should let you know, Blackhaven has similarly fortified..." Korben says as he thinks to himself.
"Say...how many men do you think you'd need for a seige as efficient as this?" he asked curiously.

"Six, maybe seven thousand," he said. "If there's no chance of a relief host." The elder man looks about. "Or the Dornish don't make a move."

"That would be a problem..." Korben said as he looked down the road of the princes path, "Taking nightsong keeps us safe from imminent invasion. But the marches have fallen before. Bloody order and its bloody allies..." He muttered to himself as he thought it over.
"Regardless of such things, you did well Maester. I hope there's good reward for your deeds here." Korben said with a bow of his head. "And if any of the order want Nightsong back, I'll ride back here to show them a thing or two."He said with a smirk, pointing a thumb to his chest as he was glad for at least no casualties this time.

"They should all be destroyed at Bitterbridge," Fremont said. "Crush King Aaron's armies and the war is over in one swift stroke."

Korben arrives at nightsong, now its lord and master as he looks to the castle that took so long to siege. Accompanying him is a band of 300 men, in order to make sure the lands of House Carron know who they now answer to.

House Caron doesn't exist, anymore, really; a few nieces the only remnants. Presumably KOrben will need to marry one to secure his claim, but for now the sieged castle is broken and the mood is sullen and quiet. Many had gone east and died, and Korben will have to wait for all the ransoms to be paid before he can repeople his lands with strong men for work.

Korben frowns as he examines the damaged castle and the war torn lands. He rolls his shoulders as he gets off his horse, "This bloody castle was a pain to take...guess we'll have to build it up again, now that it's ours." He said, looking towards the now bare battlements. "Nothing to it then..." He said as he looked to the others, "We'll just have to get started now. Clearing whatever we can, and making this place at least livable." Korben was eager to get to work, and would help with whatever rebuilding was needed to be done.

There's plenty of rebuilding to be done, mostly the west wall. Bandits plague the lawless region too, and Korben notes the local constabulary are less than enthusiastic in their pursuits. It is, in short, the Wild West of Westeros.

Korben helped to work on the western wall, but hearing about the bandits, and the local authorities, made him frown. "Oiy. I want the constables to come here. Tell them their lord wants a word with them..." He said to his men, thinking it over, "And I'd like any of the Caron blood line found as well. The house is nearly done for, but maybe we can salvage something from em."

A few Caron cousins come up, and the sheriffs appear soon after, two dozen in various districts. Korben can pick which to deal with first.

"Send the Caron's to some secure part of the keep. Not sure where that'd be, but whatever will work and let them be comfortable..." Korben ordered as he went off to address the sheriffs. The carons could wait for now.
He looked among the sheriffs gathered, "Alright. Word has reached my ear that some among you are not doing all they can to help the realm. I can understand, in a way. This place hasn't been part of the Goldlands for long...many of you probably don't think too fondly of your new lord or queen..." He said, looking around to the gathered men there, waiting to see if any had the balls to interrupt.

"Most of us ain't been paid in eight months. The Caron's've been broke for ages," one said. "Hard to enforce law with no gold."
