Letho pulled a chair up to the window and placed his feet up on the sill to watch the harbor.
"We'll need to sleep in shifts on the boat. Make sure those smugglers don't cut our throats and take out purses."

"Of course," she said as if it was obvious. "You ever been here before?"

"Pentos?" he asked, before shaking his head. "Not before the war, no. Hadn't ever been to Essos. Joined up when the call for sellswords went out."

"Is okay" she shrugged, looking out over the port, "not best, not the worst city. It just is."

"And which is the best?" he inquired, filling the silence as his eyes remained on the view. "Or the worst?"

"To live in? Norvos" she said after a moment of consideration, "worst for he was Lys, but in general, well, you'd not want to have lived in Myr recently."

"Yet if you asked any Westerosi which Free City he'd visit, I guarantee you nine out of ten men would choose Lys." he remarked, idly, with the slightest hint of amusement. "No, and I don't imagine you'd want to live in Myr for some time yet. A decade at the least."

"Mantarys did not take so long to rebuild, but I guess those Ironborn do not have the resources of the emperor," her tone held something akin to reverement for the emperor of New Valyria, "a lot of those men would soon find it would not suit them, lys destroys more men than it makes."

"I reckon there are worse ways to be destroyed." he remarked, picturing death by snu snu. "Emperor's resources certainly didn't save his sister from being nabbed."

"Penniless alone and friendless?" She asked, mysaria was interrupted in the reverie by the arrival of the guards. She moved a hand to her weapon, but did not draw, she had no reason to think they wanted trouble.

"Story of my life." Letho remarked, letting that end the conversation.
The next morning they headed for the ship.

As they exit the tavern, the pair see a couple armed men questioning people in the road. One has the black and red tabard of House Targaryen on his chest. Some people look over and point at the tavern they are exiting. The me. Start heading their way.

Letho did not know what Targaryen guardsmen were doing in Pentos or what they wanted with them, but considering his professional history it could not be good. He slipped the thick crowd, hoping his partner took the hint, trying to lose the guards as he wove his way through towards their ship.

126 for Letho. He has definitely bought himself some time.
