After Letho and Mysaria escaped Myr, they headed towards Pentos, where they could hopefully either catch word of potential bounties nearby or board a ship to a land ripe with such quarry. They set up camp for the evening near the Pentoshi border, the grizzled bounty hunter starting a fire sitting beside it to oil his blades. He would occasionally peer out in the darkness, vigilant for any roving bands of sellswords who would inevitably turn brigand with their services no longer required.
"So what's your story?" he asked his companion. Normally he preferred to avoid personal questions, as he was loath to discuss his own past. It prevented attachment in this line of work, a necessary pragmatism considering how quickly he seemed to go through partners. However, the woman was not the typical type to see take up this profession. The last woman he had worked with had been a beastly amazonian, so this was a surprising development. Most only took up a life of hunting other humans for coin if they had no other profitable skills.

"No story," She said shortly, tucking her knees up against her chest. Her posture seemed closed and stiff, but her eyes were alive, clearly prepared to uncoil and strike like a snake.
She sighed, "Story for Story?" she suggested. Not wanting to be on bad terms with her new partner.

He studied her, eyes hardening a bit, before tossing another log in the fire and removing the pouch of shredded sourleaf from his back and meticulously rolling himself a smoke.
"Don't need your life story." he shrugged, placing the cigarette in his mouth. "Just to know that you've hunted men before. Know the lay of the land. Bring in any heads of note?"

"Don't ask if you do not wish to know then," she said, blowing some hair out of her face. What id I said I had not?" she questioned, raising an eyebrow at him.

"It's the telling I've an issue with." he replied with a mirthless laugh, his cigarette ember glowing in the night. "I would wonder if you know what you are getting yourself into. Amateurs slow me down."

"You'll find out then. If there is one thing I am not, it is slow. Try and keep up, old man." She jibed, looking to where the ember was.

"Man gets old in this line of work, it's not through luck." he remarked, running a whetstone across his bastard sword and applying some blade oil. "Saw you climb those walls at the harbor, so you're agile. That's not nothing."

"Not luck, or he's not been doing it long." she shrugged, then moved to sit crossed legged, "My old man said that if they can't catch you they can't kill you, being agile is worth being less strong for."

"Been hunting men in some form or other since I could fire a crossbow, let alone swing a sword." he inspected the blade, honing the edge until it was razor sharp. "Profitable whichever side of the law you're on. This side pays more, but the quarry has teeth."
"Your father wasn't wrong. Where you from anyways?" he asked, this having been the first time he left Westeros himself and he did not have a talent for picking up on accents.

"Free cities," she said, pulling her pack round and taking out some dried meat, taking a hard bite. "Run out of marks out west?"

"That does not narrow it down much." he said dryly. "Plenty to hunt in Westeros, but the Daynes were my big game. Quarry well worth the voyage, but every hunt does not end with a trophy for your efforts." He shrugged. "Will live hand to mouth until the next. Not the first time."

"It'd better be quick, the longer it takes the higher the price." She muttered to herself, "where you from in westeros, you all sound the same to me, I can't tell."

"Ghaston Grey." he answered, staring into the flames. What he had been before that hardly mattered. He had been reborn in that hell. "

"The prison?" She asked, but it was not a question, "I was born in a prison of sorts too, nothing like that though."

He nodded, knocking the ash off his cigarette.
"That so?" he asked, in the same tone that did not imply an actual question. "Well that's also not nothing."
