Benjen watches Hector leave before turning back to Killion. "Again, this business about contributing the least. You do realise that there are very few commanders who could have taken the city. My troops fought in the battle, the army that took the city was under my command and it was my sword that slew Frances Dayne. I do not see how this is the smallest contribution."

Killion watched Hector and the Goldlands depart. It was not as if the pup's opinion mattered, as he would need to ask his wife's permission to so much as take a piss.
"Well there you have it King Benjen. The Goldlands have no objections to my proposal and the Kinglands have voiced none. If you wish to obstruct my rightful prize, it seems you stand alone in doing so."
"And I have offered you a fair and sizable compensation for doing so." Killion answered Benjen. "But at the end of the day you are not the only commander of note in this world. Perhaps we would have taken the city with more losses, but it would have fallen one way or another. But do not have the hubris to claim that your own individual contribution in the last few months somehow surpasses the 5 years of blood, toil, and diplomacy it took me to get us to this point."

Harwyn looked between the two kings for a moment before grinning, raising his hand like he was asking a question in class. "You could always duel over it instead of making as much progress as a mountain's movement. Clearly our two great and mighty kings are stubborn and determined, undoubtedly valuable traits for leadership, but not diplomacy."

Aaron finally spoke. "King Killion, last I checked we are all allies here. Lord Goodbrother is being...beyond obstructive." He looks to the man. "And speak to me in that insolent tone and there will be a duel. Royalty is royalty regardless of kingdom. I'd rip my man's tongue out for speaking such to King Killion."

Benjen considered the words for a moment, mulling something over in his head. "Hubris, no. But I am aware of my own abilities. Yes, this place could eventually have fallen, or perhaps not; I won't try to predict a hypothetical future."
When Haryn spoke he narrowed his eyes for a moment before leveling his gaze at Killion. "I do not think a duel will help us here but your man does have a point." He studied the ceiling for a moment then looked back down. "Five years, half of the city's takings."

"As I said, Lord Goodbrother, enough blood has been shed and we are all allies here." he replied, an edge to his tone as he spoke to his bannerman, remembering another time when one of his men speaking out of turn had ruined a diplomatic meeting. "Return to your ship."
"A quarter and I'll make it seven years." Killion replied to Benjen, offering his hand. "By then we'll have a wedding to celebrate."

Benjen stepped forward and took Killion's hand and shook it. "Deal. Now, is there anything else that needs to be discussed?"

"Discussing the manner in which Karissa Dayne dies would bring me no small amount of pleasure though it is up to your sister, but otherwise I suppose we must discuss how we will deal with New Ghis." Killion replied, tone amiable now that the worst was hopefully behind them. "Other than that, we should celebrate our victory and each return to our respective abodes."

Harwyn smirks and turns to depart, patting the axe at his hip. Insolent, maybe, but it finally got them to agree to a deal. "Princess Robyn is invited aboard my ship, when we're done here. A fun chat for old time's sake." Nodding to those gathered, Harwyn returned to his own ship.

"A celebration sounds good," Benjen replied with a nod. "There is a chance I will be hosting a small tourney, or at least a feast in the near future and you are of course invited. I am seeking a wife, so if you know of any eligible young women in your domain who might be suitable as a queen the do bring them along." He added with a chuckle.

"I can't imagine it will be small if that is the goal of it. Every lord with an eligible daughter or sister will attend." he laughed, as drinks were poured and the mood hopefully relaxed. "I will certainly see if we have any eligible, but if a catfight breaks out for your hand, it will get fatal fast with our ladies in attendance."

Benjen laughed at that. "Perhaps the ladies of Tyrosh will be a little less aggressive than their counterparts from the islands but I am not one to turn down a fierce woman." He took a cup of wine and drank. "How is your own wife? And your children? I had thought about sending Lyanna to Tyrosh for a short time in a few years, just to acclimatize her to the city."

"Seeing as your last wife was a dragon, I suppose you are no stranger to fierce women. I know that well with mine." he replied, shaking his head as he drank something a bit stronger from his cup. "The children are well, growing fast. I'm sure Kargan will have grown another foot by my return. It would be good for her to see the city and a bit of the world. I always found I learned more from travel and experience than I did from my maesters."

"At that age they grow so quickly," Benjen agreed. "Rickon is already a handful - fortunately his younger brother is the quiet type. And I agree, traveling is an important part of learning." He glanced over to Amelia and shook his head. "Though some people I do not think learn anything from their travels."

"Or simply learn lesson contrary to what you wish them to." Killion replied, following his gaze. "A tourney will be a welcome relief after all of this. I would be happy to bring Kargan, as it would be good for the children to become acquainted before they are wed."
