Dudley walks the gardens keeping a close eye on Rhaegar, but also keeping a distance so the boy can play as he likes. Dud sipped from a water skin and enjoyed the beautiful day. He didn't have to worry about Seagard, Flint was taking care of that. He did feel slightly guilty about not being beyond the wall, but decisions were made. For now he would enjoy his peace at the North's capital.

It is a calm and pleasant day, but the influx of mercenaries seeking dragons while pretending to be looking for work with House Stark makes the atmosphere oppressive at best. Even Dudley's keen eyes cannot spot everything, but the bastard son of the prince is swift and strong for his age, and has the temper of his mother with the single mindedness only a northman possesses. He walks to the lord. "Who are you, anyway? Where is my mother? And I was told I was meeting my father!" He said, his words almost adult but his tone that of a small child.

Dud squatted down more to the boys level. "I'm a friend of your Father, my name is Dudley Mudd. Dud for short." Dud answers and smiles at the boy "Your father is far up north to protect you and everyone else from the monsters and grumpkins that want to come down south. He should be able to change their minds about coming south in no time. Your father is a great warrior, like I have no doubt you'll become."

Rhaegar frowned up at him. "Dud Mudd." He chuckled after he said it a few times. Dudley hears a commotion near the garden's entrance. Sounds like someone is throwing a tantrum.

Dud grinned at the boy and ruffled his hair as he stood up, hearing the commotion. Staying close to Rhaegar, Dud tries to get a look at what or who is throwing a tantrum. "Stay close, little knight." Dud says to the boy

Rhaegar looks at Dudley and the commotion grows louder. A guard comes up to Dudley. "Some weirdo is crying doom on the land while the dragon's brood is here," he said with an eyeroll. "More fanatics, looks like."

"Is it just the one madman?" Dud asked. "If so quietly remove him. Don't need him drawing anymore of a crowd than he may already have." These crazies were getting on Dudley's nerve. Wishing harm on just a child.

"We're getting to it, m'lord," he said. "But we thought the crazy loud one might draw some of the more careful ones out."

"I agree with that. As much as I don't want to give them the satisfaction, I think it might be time to go back indoors." Dud replied looking over at Rhaegar. "Let's go get some good food in our belly's, Rhaegar."

The boy trots off with him. "Can you show me how to use a sword?" he asked.

"Of course I can." Dud replies cheerfully. "We can start right after we eat. You'll need the energy." As they walk off Dud scans around the area, making sure there is no one lurking around and using the madman commotion as a cover.
