Ragnar Drumm's tent. The tent is dyed dark red with the bone hand of House Drumm sewn onto it. Two men stand guard outside at all times.

In the aftermath of the recent battle, Ragnar (who had unfortunately failed to distinguish himself) invited the other Ironborn captains to his tent.

Quentyn arrived, looking haggard. He'd barely managed to sleep for weeks, and hadn't bothered shaving recently. Without a word, he made a beeline for the wine and poured himself a cup.

The king made an appearance, taking a seat as he brushed the snow off his shoulders.
"Seems the northern prince found his ice demons." he said, shaking his head as he took a skin of rum from his side and took a very long drink. He did not care for it ice cold, but it would do. "Think this is the longest I've ever spent on the mainland and the furthest from the sea I've been in my life. Can't say I much care for it."

"Aye, it's not good for us to be so far away from the sea air," Ragnar agreed. "Poor Cleftjaw looks wretched." He winked at Quentyn.
He poured himself a drink but didn't immediately take a mouthful.
"My men hate the cold and they've been grumbling about the lack of pillaging opportunities. Even the fish taste wrong when they've not been caught in saltwater. We need to get out of this godforsaken place as soon as possible. We don't belong here. Truth be told, once I sail away, I hope I never have to visit the bloody North again in my lifetime."

"This isn't about pillage." Killion replied, eyes narrowing, clouded with rage and pain and something else. "Any man among us that saw our islands...what those things did...to our homes...to our people...to our king..." he was silent for a long time. "I would find a way to ascend to the Storm God's hall itself and beat him to death with my bare hands if it meant taking our revenge."
"I hear any man grumble about lack of plunder in this venture, I'll drown them myself in the fucking snow. Such a man doesn't deserve the honor of dying with salt in his lungs."

"I'll see that the men mind their tongues," Ragnar vowed. "But Your Grace knows how it is. There are crewmen all over the islands who think of nothing but their next raid." He shrugged and finally took a drink of his own wine. "We had to come here, I know that as much as any of us." He fell silent for a moment, thinking of Freya. "Putting an end to the evil in this land is a necessity, aye, but we need to dream of the future too. And show our strength to the world."

"The world will know our strength when we wipe Myr from the face of it." he vowed. "What we do here, in this cursed land, is about survival. We have no future without victory here."

"True. So what next? I don't suppose it would do any good to scout the area a while? That would certainly quiet restless minds,."

"Have to find a safe way to ford the frozen river first." Killion replied. "For now we wait for the greenlanders and their sorcerers. It irks me as much as you but we are in no position to march off into these frozen wastes. We are out of our element."

Ragnar grimaced. "Sorcery? I know we've no choice but I'd prefer not to put my trust in such things. What's to say they won't turn on us when all this is over? No men fight as fiercely as our men, but we've no knowledge of how to fight sorcery, if it should be necessary."

"We must adapt with the times Drumm." he replied. "We've been in bed with sorcerers since we allies ourselves with Vhagus. We cannot fear it merely because we do not understand it."

"Then we must learn to understand it," Ragnar said firmly. "I dislike being at the mercy of some power not controlled by steel or sea."
