The biggest fist ever, this fortress is older than time almost, and even in ruins is the strongest fortification in the wild lands beyond the Wall. The Ironborn have already made it to the position as the Northern army comes within two days of it.

The Ironborn have set up camp in the ring fort, stakes placed in strategic positions in the round hill to ward off an advance from the dead. At the arrival of the great host, Prince Benjen and the other commanders are invited by King Killion to the command tent that had been erected.

Crowl is present at the camp, he is around one of the fires trying to thaw and warm up some of his more ice encrusted articles of clothing.

Harwyn is wandering throughout the camp, avoiding the command tent until it becomes mandatory. Finding the closest fire at the moment, he nods to the Crowl as he rubs his hands together. "You're too big to be from our side of the wall. Where did the northern sissies drag you from?"

At the arrival of the great host, Prince Benjen and the other commanders are invited by King Killion to the command tent that had been erected. After making sure his host had settled in and that the perimeter was safe, Benjen and his commanders arrive at the tent. He's still in his black armour, a black cloak with a white direwolf head on his back. He nodded at Killion. "I've heard reports that the dead are massed on the Antler River."

"Aye, in the middle of a dense forest." Killion replied, looking particularly regal in his sandworm plate with the new Driftwood Crown upon his brow, not bothering to stand on formality and preferring to get to the business at hand. "It's a trap; one we have set, baited, and are about to step in."

"I'd never thought I'd have to consider dead men laying traps," Benjen grunted, preferring to remain standing. "Do we have numbers? If we could I'd have that whole forest burned down. Kal Stark and my best warriors are out to find the Others and eliminate them. Without them at their head the Wights will be nothing."

"And I never thought I'd have to venture this far North, but this has been a year of unlikely occurrences." he replied, with a wry smile that did not reach his eyes. The events on the Iron Islands had taken their toll. "We haven't had numbers in a single battle we've fought. I wont hold my breath that this one will be any different."
"I hope they succeed in that endeavor and we in ours. All I know is that there are four individuals in that forest that need to be put down for various reasons. Lets see it done."

"Fortunately we won't need numbers against the Wights - they're slow and lumbering, hardly like fighting a living man," Benjen said. "Nevertheless, we need better ground." He looked down at a map then back up. "Redwyne and Pol I know of, but who are the other two?"

"The Collector and the Seer." he spat the names with venom as if they were curses. "The only surviving leaders among those responsible for the attack on my lands."

Benjen nodded. "They will die, just like the others. A dragon or some wildfire could do us some good but we'll have to do without either. Controled fires set at the edge of the forest should flush them out, straight into our waiting army."

"The last Long Night was defeated without the serpents. Why wish them all the glory?" he laughed. "Setting fires might be easier said than done with heavy snow and frost, but it is worth a try. If any man could start a blaze in this arctic wasteland, it would be a Northerner."

"There are always ways," Benjen said with an almost chuckle. Humour had become hard since the news. "Fortunately we have assistance from the sorceress Riley. If fire won't work we'll find another way." He paused for a moment. "Condolences for your loss. I can't say I liked your father but he did what he thought was right for his people."

"I am sure the sorceress will see it burnt. Am I safe to assume you had Amelia hung then?" he inquired. "Even in times such as these I could hardly fault you for punishing treason."
"I thank you, but am glad he fell with sword in hand. There are few things as pitiable as an old reaver passing in his sleep." he replied with a sad smile. "And I am sorry for your own loss. I know my queen mourns with you."

"Amelia has gone south, to do whatever it is she needs to do. I am not willing to risk Vhagus Targaryen's ire right now," Benjen responded, though his tone softened a little. "We can still hope to find my sister out here somewhere, so that gives me hope. As for the army, I will offer the Reach to take the left if you and your men want the right. The North and the giants will hold the center."
