Kalvin just shakes his head. "Right." He looks her over. "You all right, Amelia?" He looks at Riley, who Nick slipped some sedatives to so she's snoozing. "What a fucking waste. Just a gods damned waste of life that fuck was." He stands up painfully and looks about, he whistles for his horse. "the Rills are only a few hours away. "The Ryswells will give us some rest there. Then...ah fuck what does it matter?" He shakes his head and starts packing up, blood soaking through his bandages. "Just fuck it."

"I'll be fine..." Amelia responded, briefly look under her dress at the wound on her stomach, wondering if they would go away. Rituals were never good news. "We rest up at the Rills and then go back to the Wall," She said, trying to convince herself more than the others. "There's nothing else to do."

Kalvin just shrugs. "Right," he said. They all pack it up, those who can actually pack, and they mount up and ride slowly away.
The Rills main castle is eighteen miles away, and it takes six hours to get there, and by the time they arrive, nearly everyone feels dead already. Kal shouts down some men and gets wagons and a master sent to start inspecting their wounds.

Maekar groans in pain as the maester sows his wounds shut. He was sitting on one of the wagons that Kalvin had procured,"I hope what we did was worth it."

"The fuck is dead," Nick said flatly. "The cost is too high, but it was always going to be too fucking high."

Crowl sits in the maesters room as his bandages are wrapped. "We don't have a body. For all we know that fuck is elsewhere recovering his pride." He says between bites of some mutton.

"Next time I'll give you my portion of his flaesh," nick said. "The bastard had to die. Without the ability to stop his magic I don't think we can survive another battle."

"Is there another way for us to find a way to create something that will soak up the energy like your sword?" Crowl asks, "More objects that can hold off magic like that seem to be useful these days."

Nick has the old hilt in his hands, a golden woman with a thin robe and arms out stretched wantonly. "Maybe," he said. "It took a hell of a beating though." He frowned. "You seem happy."

Crow shrugs, "The leading force behind the suffering of my people has been kidnapped by a tentacle and presumed dead." He gives as an answer, "those left still alive beyond the wall now have a greater chance of surviving. Which will only increase once we take out the rest of this threat."

"I should've eaten his heart." Ilvar away, looked up at the sky, looking ashamed. "I was relieved at what I thought was his demise... but I should not have elated so until his life's blood had finished sloshing through my guts."

"Settling for death in some abyssal realm is enough for me, so long as he isn't in our." Nick nods. "You're right Crowl. The next phase will be even more painful I suspect.
