"There is magic in the wall, afterall, I suppose. I'd heard those tales, but I always thought of Brandon the Builder as just a man with too much time on his hands. So, I suppose that means we're the last defense then, and also vulnerable from either direction," he scrathed at his tangled beard, "I'll take it."

While they chat, Titus sees an old comrade of his walking by in Stark colors now. Jarvis the former guard is now apparently a commander of some sort. He has nicer armor than he had in the Vale. He nods to the men, and he arches his head a bit as he sees Wyl. "You look familiar," he said.

Titus recognized the man immediately, but attempted his best to cover his dismay. He slowly looked Jarvis up and down, his mind unable to help wandering back to that day in the Vale when the two of them had faced that cursed monster of dead men. "Spent much time in Saltpans?" Titus asked?

"No," he said. "But I spent a lot of time at Dracen's stronghold. Never even been to the town." He frowned. "Sure you don't know me? Name's Jarvis."

"Wyl Buckets," he replied, offering a bony hand. "I used to sail with the Manderly's" he said pursing his lips. "I was around White Harbor a good bit, Gulltown too. Sometimes King's Landing, but not so much as the other two." Better to not bring up the name Grafton at all, he decided.

"Yea," he said. "I was at White Harbor. Lost a lot of good men there. Fucking Baratheons helping those rebel scum, then that gods-damned pirate cleaning up afterwards. I must know you from there," he said. He shakes his hand. "You look like you need a hot meal."

"Perhaps," Titus said quietly. He wasn't sure who he meant by 'those rebel scum,' but he decided he liked it that way. "I look like I need a hundred hot meals," he chuckled, finally, "no need to flatter me."

"Fair enough," he said. "Come on, let's get some whiskey and mutton. Been a long fucking trek."

Harris chuckles at the inability of Captain Jarvis to differentiate between two men who weren't sitting over a finished bowl of stew and two men who were. He'd have whiskey though.

Titus followed and grabbed the greasiest slab of meat he could find and took it in his hand and started devouring it. Grease dripped down his face and stuck in his beard. "Gods, is that better than fucking stew," he said, not even caring about the whiskey. "Put a sword through me now so I can die happy."

"That'd ruin the mutton,' he drawled. He takes a hit of whiskey. "You need a haircut. Your vocabulary is too damn good to be common born. Talk like one of them nobles."

"You just talk like an idiot," Titus replied. "I'm a learned man. My father was harbor master of Saltpans, and on good enough terms with Lord Cox. I learn my letters, though not so well as some, and navigation and a bit of accounting. Only the simplest of that, but still, a bit is better than none. Learned all that before I was old enough to sail. Once I hooked on as cabin boy, well, I followed a different wind from then on."

Jarvis laughed. "Well looks like maybe you should have stuck to accounting," he joked. "Gonna be a damn sight better than fucking Others."

"I can't argue with that," Titus laughed. "Have you run across them before? I've heard tales of mystical sea creatures, witches, magic, others and the like, but until I see something for myself..."

"I'm alive ain't I? We ain't seen em yet, but the prince has, I think." He shook his head. "Fucking terrifying."
