Melysa greets him as they arrive, a lady of twenty three now, widowed by her own brother. She hugs him. "Cousin! Welcome to Winterfell!" she said excitedly. "I hope you like the army we've been forming," she said. Five thousand men or more are gathered at the town, half from the Riverlands and half from the southern bases of the North. "I had Lord Umber keep the furthest men at the Last Hearth."

"It looks formidable indeed, Melysa," Benjen said, hugging his cousin. "I have brought as many as I could from Eddard's Rest but more should be arriving, hopefully. Any word from Kal? How long will he be?"

"A while, I think," she said. "The fleet should be at White Harbor any day, but I think he has seriously considered just attacking Eastwatch with it."

"That might prove a good idea, depending on how large Oriax's army at Eastwatch is," Benjen stated. "Do we have any news from the Shadow Tower?"

"None," she said. "Not a damned word. Valerie said we should burn that one down too," she shook her head in amusement.

"Let's find out a little more before we do that," Benjen said with half a smile. "Ser Lucas at Eastwatch thought the Shadow Tower watch were strange, though he couldn't specify. The Lord Commander however... I'm taking the bastard's head."

"Sounds fun," she said. "Kalvin is marrying Robyn," she said, changing topics. Everyone already knew the strategy anyway. "I'll be the old maid here yet again." She hands Benjen and Cassana some drinks while she has her seat. "Third sister is the charm, I guess," she winked.

"You're hardly old," Benjen commented with a laugh, taking a drink. "I'm not surprised at that news however - just a shame for the other two. Arryn and Tully? Ah, they'll find someone more suited to the life of a lady in a keep."

"Arryn already did," she said. "That princess YOU rescued." She frowned. "I feel old. Robyn hasn't spent more than eight straight days in a castle since she was twelve, I don't think."

"Naomi," Benjen said, wondering what would have been had he married her. Probably more men right now to support them. He shook his head. "Neither has Kal in all likelihood. They're practically made for each other."

Melysa nodded as she leaned back in thought. "I hope so. I always liked your sisters. Strange meeting princesses not utterly full of themselves. How has Hector been? Kalvin was so proud of the little chap. That's what he called him. Little chap." She smiles with her eyes closed. "He's so arrogant."

"And it will never change," Benjen replied with a chuckle, drinking some wine. "Hector did well at Gulltown and I've left him in charge. He's learned the fighting side of things so now a lesson in ruling is needed. He's used to Kalvin's style of teaching so I dropped him in the deep end."

"Well, he was always all right at swimming," she said. "Grandfather taught that way. I'm not sure it didn't do more harm than good. All of us ended up so painfully full of ourselves," she said with a smile. "The Reachmen just never understood."
