"Every man who dies rises again to fight for them," Benjen told. "Whch will make it much harder. The Night's Watch that remain are all traitors and once we have slain them there will be no more Black Brothers." He thought. "Has Nick been here? Do you know where he is?"

"He left with your sister for Lannisport weeks ago. She wanted to see if the sorcerer sent that ghost ship," he said. "Also," he hands a letter to him, "it seems Amelia has chosen the dragons over us. Someone sent us word that she has joined Vhagus Targaryen. Your wife is distraught over something, too, but won't tell me what."

Benjen simply stares at the letter for a long moment, before pocketing it. He thinks a moment, then speaks. "It seems there is more trouble every day. We need Valyrian Steel, father, to take down Oriax's death knights. Nothing else seems to harm them."

"Magic would have been nice,@ he grumbled. "Go talk to your wife. Kalvin and the new Lord Corbray will head north to help destroy these death Knights. I'll get word to Nicholas and Tobyn, and hopefully some of the other kingdoms will send men. Also, we have the few survivors of the Mormonts with Longclaw..." He frowned. "It will have to be enough, for now. We can count on no one but ourselves for sure, the other may be glad to see us taken down a peg for all we know."

"It'll be their own destruction if they don't help out," Benjen said grimly. "Why should the North take all the punishment, purely because the Wall is on our land?" He turned and went to find his wife.

Terrence goes back to reading a letter from Hector.

///// She hears plenty of whispers while she rides through the town. The guards at the castle allow her in. King Terrence is listening to petitioners on his throne. He looks old, very old, and he has lost weight. He sees Amelia and makes a gesture and Captain Swiftriver clears the chamber for the day, sending the audience-seekers, somewhat ironically, to her father. He rises and points to his office. He takes a seat next to the queen and lets out a long breath. Amelia follows but remains standing, not wishing to appear to comfortable. She thinks for a moment about how to start then gives a curtsy. "Oriax is dead and gone, your Grace." She takes a deep breath. "Unfortunately Princess Cassana died in the process."

"We received Lord Kalvin's letter," he said. He sounds defeated. "Her brother is upset. All of them are, rather." He taps his forefingers together. "King Brynden is dead. His sister seeks the crown but the king in his infinite wisdom decided that the Lady Joanna...your old friend," his lips curled very slightly at the joke, "was better suited. So this can only end well. And now the Order wants to hunt the rest of the dragons, and only the gods know what the dragons want."

"That is why I am here," Amelia said, keeping a calm demeanor. "Vhagus, though not formally allied, is very protective of his family. Prince Benjen's daughter Lyanna is family. As are Daena Targaryen and Rhaegar Snow. I am to protect them from the Order with my life and that is what I will do." She paused then continued in a diplomatic tone. "Given your permission, your Grace."

"This rumor has sent bounty hunters the realm over after then," he said with an annoyed tone. "Leanna is perfectly safe here, but that fool Daena thinks her name will save her. I do not think she realizes her name is going to kill her." He shook his head. "She is staying in town at the Lakeside Lodge for now, waiting for what she says she was promised."

"She will be waiting for death if she stays there," Amelia told Terrence. "The Order is more dangerous than they appear, your Grace. It is a painful reminder but how safe were all of you here when Harrys Snow showed up? It cost Princess Catherine and her daughter Joanna their lives, as well as those of many other people. We must find somewhere safer."

Terrence's eyes grow dark at being scolded by someone whose sense of danger has been compromised once or twice. "You are correct," he said. "I learned from Harrys Snow. Daena won't leave the lodge for safety and I don't have any real authority to compel her to short of forcing her. If she is that stubborn I have no desire to force her into something even dumber."

"Very well," Amelia replied, still thinking keeping them in such an obvious place was idiotic. "I will leave you to it then." She turned and left.

He isn't saying you can't do it, just that she won't leave despite his asking.
