"Not the prince?" Cassana arched an eyebrow. "Who even likes those filthy reavers?" She says it loudly enough for some of them to hear. They turn, but even Ironborn know that facing some of the swords in that group is a way to meet the Drowned God missing multiple appendages.

Round 1:
Killion: 181 (-5) Maekar (+5 for opponent having a sword): 203 (-5)
Maekar strikes first, his range supremely useful as he backs the Ironborn heir up and then strikes rapidly, his long spear flying towards Killion's head before abruptly tilying and grazing his side. Killion steps into the blow, wincing with the pain, and he catches Maekar across the left arm with a counter. Back and forth the two go for several more hits, and the crowd is excited. Clearly these are two fine warriors.

Killion: 163 Maekar: 124 (-15 now)
Killion closes the gap with fast footwork, ducking Maekar's spear twice, wheeling and spinning, his right arm blocking the shaft of the weapon as his left draws blood on Maekar's right thigh. The Reachmen cry in dismay, but the fight is far from over. The Ironborn hoot and holler.

3-5: Ties
6:
Killion: 149 (-10) Maekar: 173
MAekar lands a blow to Killion's helm, his plate fist smashing into it. The fight has lasted quite a long time, and the crowd is getting rowdier by the second.

"Perhaps they'll kill each other?" Robyn suggested, to her good sister as the fight went on.

Lyonel and his stepson were amongst the Reach Lords watching, Arthur commenting excitedly about the fight to those Lords near to him. Lyonel sat somewhat silently making the occasional comment.

"You didn't even fight the Reach, did you?" she asked as they fought. "Seems odd to root against them. Or...do you find the prince charming?" 7: Killion: 110 (-15) Maekar: 133 As the princesses talk, the fight gets more and more brutal. Killion closes again, but Maekar is ready, and he jabs with his spear to set up a sweeping stroke of his shield. : 189 Something odd happens, and the sand in the pit shifts, and then seems to boil alive, swirling like a maelstrom, both fighters tossed about it like rag dolls as the clay and mud of the dried blood mixes with the rocky sand. Amelia feels a massive surge of power she doesn't recognize as it occurs, and after thirty seconds, both combatants and anyone else in the ring are sandblasted and bleeding. They are conscious but dazed and suffer 20 extra damage each. Killion cannot find his offhand sword nor Maekar his shield, and much of the crowd either draws steel or flees. Cries of fear and "Sorcerer!" are flung about in the aftermath. Clarence looks at Amelia with open hatred and suspicion.

"Of course, perhaps it's what they want," Robyn commented wondering who, if anyone they would support.
Robyn looks around as the magic happens, looking to see if anyone parent could have caused it,

Lyonel drew his blade and moved protectively in front of his stepson. Looking around, he saw widespread bewilderment and the beginnings of panic. Arthur's face had gone a sickly shade of white. With the young Lord behind him, the older man began to edge away from the pit.

Benjen had been flung to the ground but rose, sword in hand while Amelia looks around intently, trying to find out where the magic had come from.
"Get the people out of here!!" She called out, knowing that another more deadly strike could be imminent.

About half the crowd vanishes. Anyone left is armed and they all stare at each other suspiciously. Nothing happens for a long minute, then the Dornishman Harryld raises his weapon and places his left hand on the blade over his head in a calming disarming gesture. "I don't think any of us did this," he said, in a reasonable tone. Let's put the weapons point in the ground and figure this out," he suggests. "No one gains from this."

Benjen motioned for any northmen present to lower their weapons, while holding his own sword up with the blade pointed down. "This weapon can cancel out magic! Perhaps it will dampen any other attack made on us!" He looks to Amelia with an apologetic expression.

Korben had looked forward to seeing this fight. It had been intense as well, until the ground came alive and attacked.
He held his axe at the ready as nothing happened. And kept it at the ready even when others put their weapon away. "Maybe nobody here did this...but someone did. I ain't dropping my guard for them to do it again..."
