"Not that close," he admitted. "I was with the cavalry and they make the horses jittery. But it was still impressive." Mychel laughed at her answer. "Well, I'd have to follow you if you were swept away, so I guess drowning was in both our fortunes," he said, swimmng to the river's edge to see how it happened. Their own alternate reality.

"it would be the most chivalrous thing to do. Also, people might think you killed me," Robyn said, with a soft laugh, "Horses are very skittish, I am not surprised they unnerved them. People should not look so big, it unnerved me, until you really meet them, then they are actual rather nice."

"I doubt anyone believed that mere Mychel Tully could have managed to kill the legendary princess," he responded, climbing onto shore. "If they weren't nice...I couldn't imagine trying to fight one. Must be awful," he said. "Shall we see if fate can be tempted twice?" he asked.

"Well that depends, on how good Ser Mychel Tully is, your cards are very close to your chest at present" Robyn said, a note of approval in her tone.
she looked up at him and also walked out of the river onto the bank, the wet clothes sticking to her with little notice from her, "How very daring you are, I can hardly refuse that kind of a challenge"

"I am good at cards, as it happens," he admits. "Numbers come easily to me." He cannot avert his gaze from her for a few seconds after she clambers out. He holds out his arms and falls backwards into the river, the swift current carrying him towards the rock. It smashes him against it and he hangs on, painfully clambering up, cuts on his arms and hip. "Sometimes changing fate," he cried out. "just leads to something less fun!" he says with a smile anyway.

Robyn was a lot less enthusiastic now she had seen him... crushed against the rock, if it happened to him, it would probably kill her. either way, she had been issued a challenge.
"it's not fate if you can change it." she called out, and jumped into the water.

The water blasts her into the rock, and the shallow jutting stones cut her a few times. She smashes into the giant rock and Mychel grabs her as she bounces off. "We could have chosen not to," he said as he pulled her onto him, her back on his chest. "But that's boring," he laughed as they bled into the trout-rich waters.

"There is nothing worse than boring" she said with a laugh, leaning against him and panting slightly. Mostly at the thrill and excitement, "you find get sharks in rivers? Do they?"

"Sharks are salt water," he said, holding her close to him so the waters don't get them. "That was less...exciting and more panic-inducing," he laughed. "Are you all right? Fate has spared us once again," he joked.

"Less fate, more blind luck" she said, looking round the rock, "how do we get back?"

"Well..." he said, thinking. "You hold on!" He pushes off into the water and they ride the rapids like a human tobaggan. it's...fun having mouths filled with river water and bounding off every obstacle, but after a minute they are back in the deep pool, splashing and sputtering.

This time rather than lounging, Robyn made straight for the bank, walking into the shallows and collapsing back, fate luck, chance or decisions, that was not the best of any of those." She said but a smile was in her voice.

"That was probably a bad idea," he agreed. "But sometimes it's nice to know your first thought is the best one," he said. "Compared to Skyreach that was like a kiss on the lips," he said.

"HAve you ever been kissed?" She asked, "I wonder if your pre marriage morals extend there?'
